RIP, Mose Allison, The Who’s favorite jazz musician.
“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23

I was dreading the day he’d be gone. And here it is.
He had so many great songs. As a lyricist, few could match him.

Georgia is the largest state East of the Mississippi. Very long drive to get home after the game for many fans. Even before the advent of ESPN noon games, our home kickoffs were normally in the 1:10 – 1:30 PM timeframe.
We ask for the early games and try to avoid the night games so fans can get home to Brunswick, Valdosta, Albany est

Aw shucks, for those of us that might have been under a rock, just please tell us what the “stated policy” is, or tell us where it’s stated.

The Senator saw Dwight Yoakum at the Georgia Theater earlier this year. Peaceful, Easy Feeling was part of the encore. http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/dwight-yoakam/2016/the-georgia-theatre-athens-ga-43f0ffc3.html.
No complaint was uttered. That was very un-dude: https://youtu.be/h1WJqKWqUHQ

And if he posted a comment at GTP praising the Eagles, I’d let him know about blog policy just like anyone else.

I just think it’s funny that you paid good money to see Dwight, who I like too, and he throws Peaceful, Easy Feeling (as an encore) at you. Cracks me the hell up.

I didn’t take it personally. And the money was well spent on the rest of the show, for sure.

I was not there, but based on the set list you got your money’s worth.
Heard him do “Purple Rain” on Satellite the other day. Still not sure how I feel about that.

Follow the link to the Who’s 1970 version. Before my time, but Townsend can flat play.. Great band. Thanks for a heads up into a deeper track than teenage wasteland.

One of the great live rock pieces of the 1960s — and that’s saying something.

Great selection. Did I miss your blog on Cohen passing away? Or is he in the “the band that shall not be named but did have Bernie Ledon in it and does have Joe Walsh in it” category.

LC’s one of those artists I admired more than having an emotional attachment to their music.

Understood, especially the admiring part–just for his ability to write. Only two of his songs, Bird on a Wire and First We take Manhattan, then we take Berlin, do I have an emotional attachment to. First for just being a great song and second one cause it is so amusing.

@GC: And bring back those fond memories of having my mouth washed out with soap. Kinda like Christmas Story, except my experience was in elementary school. Hell, I did not know friggin was a bad word. At least it was to my teacher.

If you have never seen Christmas Story, watch it. Your story follows the movie line to the tee with the Dad and the son.
