“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23
I blame Bobo.

Must be nice when the only team you play is Colorado.

Did you see the line about “adjusted for competiton”?

what’s Col St’s strength of schedule, probably a mile away from UGA.

“The result is the PFF O-Line metric, which assesses just how much each line is contributing in the running game and how well they’re protecting in the pass game, all while adjusting based on situation and quality of opponent. It is much more difficult going against a defensive front as stout as Alabama’s compared to a weak defensive line found in the Big 12, and those adjustments are factored in here.”
Reading is hard.

You’re right, Colorado state doesn’t have the benefit of a cushy SEC East schedule.

agree, only 33 spots different on sos, that’s slight really.

funny, West Mich, love to have that schedule, Alabama and then a clean slate. I think UGA averaged more rush yards than W Mich, and had a wee bit tougher schedule. Alabama gave up 19 sacks, UGA 21.

Wally, Saxon and Weee pointed out to you that the methodology adjusted for strength of opponents. If you ignore their advice it reflects poorly on you.

we got the worst oline and head coach anywhere, ya don’t have to sell me on that. straight up, without the biased adjustments, sos is markedly different as you know surely..

I have no clue how that comment relates to Colorado State or my post.

For what it’s worth, I knew what we had before it was gone. I don’t know how he’ll do with overall program management (though early recruiting returns have been pretty good by Colorado State standards), but Bobo is a damn fine offensive coach, and Friend was a damn good o-line coach and running game coordinator.

Pyke will go pro, he and Chubb and Bellamy bout it for first 6 rounds. Not musck skin on da bone.

Bobo was as successful as Bobby Cox at OC. He was a good QB developer.

Yes he is ….my post wasn’t directed at CMB. I thought the crayon meme way over done.

The Fla. Coach did his time at Col. St. & then moved on up.
Bobo will do his time at Col. St. & then move on up.
I expect Bobo to be a HC at an ACC or SEC school in the future.
Better to hire an experienced HC than an Assistant. I Blame Bobo.

I agree Bobo’s getting a lot better, 6-6 in 2015, and 7-5 in 2016. He’s improving, he’ll be at 10 wins in 2019.

I notice that our current OC’s last stop, Pitt, is on this list as well. It would be interesting to see how Pitt graded when he was there last year.

probably not, he’s the worst offensive coach in the nation, maybe ever!! he is offensive, I’ll say that!!

Agree, so what if Kirby pulled in another 2 4stars today, Bob is tons better, especially as a recruiter, if you adjust for schedule.

CSU won 10 games under McElwain in 14, and is now enjoying their second straight 7-5 season under Bobo. I’ll give him this, he’s losing mostly close games, but the good teams tend to blow him out, which sounds familiar. By far the worst part of losing Bobo for me was losing Will Friend. That 2014 line was one of the best in Richt’s tenure, and rivaled the o-lines from the beginning of the Richt era.

Even though Bobo went from 10 wins before down to 7 wins the next year it’s different from Kirby Smart going from 10 wins down to 7 in 2016, totally different due to SOS. Bobo’s 7 wins are much more impressive than Smart’s, Colorado and Boise State and Minnesota and Western Michigan and Bobo blewout Northern Colorado, a very good team.

Surely you aren’t saying that CSU had a better SOS than Georgia.

Maybe Bobo knew to intentionally lose some games in order to tamp down expectations like the really smart coaches do, according to bigdoghunts.

Been hearing this phrase a lot this season.
I guess it would be pretty surprising to see an SEC backup transfer to a G5 school and be more successful… except it happens all the time.
