All about Mixon

Unfortunately, as great as things started with the Rose Bowl, the evening had to end with the Sugar Bowl.  The game itself was a clunker, as Auburn typically got off to a good start and then gradually disappeared.

Along the way, we were treated to an embarrassing defense of Joe Mixon by Brent Musburger.

Brent is apparently unaware of the Rule of Holes, as he went on later in the broadcast to defend his comments.

Yecch.

Meanwhile, the fans didn’t want to be left out of the fun.

Nice shit show, guys.

Musberger is pathetic and should have been fired after the embarrassing gushing about McCarron’s girlfriend a few years ago.

And people felt bad that he was “relegated” to SECN noon kickoff games.. imagine having to be Palmer and work with this guy every week.

Palmer is obnoxious too. I should have muted the TV.

As bad as Palmer is, last night was really a “special” moment for Musberger. I can’t recall too many announcers recently being quite this outspokenly horrible.

I also don’t recall Musberger being this bad even 10 years ago. Old age has not treated this dude well. He sucks out loud, for many very obvious reasons, and I hope they finally send him out to pasture with Granny Holtz, because I’m really over watching a game with him talking on it. (and I mean that phrase quite specifically….Musberger talks on the game.)

  6. When did Musberger start faking the southern accent? Have I missed something? I know he didn’t do it when calling the Masters. He sounded like he was trying to act like he was from south Alabama. Did he have a stroke or something?

Why do 2nd chances have to involve playing football? Seems this a-hole’s 2nd chance should be getting to walk around not locked up for a year or two.

My favorite call of the year was Brent’s incredulity as Godwin ran that SC onside kick back for a touchdown.

That Brent Musberger is still employed is totally baffling to me. Each time he makes comments like this I think “this is it” but he just keeps on rolling. Apparently if you just adopt a “crazy uncle” persona at all times you can skate through almost anything.

I remember the good ol’ days when Musberger and Jimmy The Greek would get drunk and beat on each other. Not athletes beating on women.

Musberger is TOTALLY useless as a color man. Put him out to pasture.
    PLEASE.

It was pretty bad. I support a person’s right to hit an attacker back. But I also recognize that society has determined that a man should never hit a woman. Even if the woman hits him first.

But even I am not cheering for Mixon to have a wonderful pro career. I’m neutral on his career prospects. But I do appreciate the PR struggle out of Norman where Mixon deserves a second chance, but he would be kicked off the team if it happened today, etc.
