No trophy at the Walmart this year, boys.

In the cold light of day, will ‘Bama fans blame the loss on Lane Kiffin?

Hell, in his mind, you know Junior’s already taking credit for it.

  1. Oh, there are plenty of Wal-Marts in the upstate.

ESPN is already blaming the loss on the change from Kiffin to Sark. It undoubtedly had some effect, but it’s hard to say how much. Clemson looked pretty darn good on their own.

Seeing Bama fans in full meltdown mode sure puts a smile on my face.

Yes the few Bama’ fans I was around during the holidays were very smug and already talking about Saban and his 6th ring.

Just great! Now Clemson has won 2 national titles since UGA has won one.

Lose Lose for us. One team wins, and its business as usual. The other wins, and they can make the case to recruits about why they need to go to Clumson and not their state school.

I guess this is what I wanted. Bama loses and the stories are immediately about Saban, Kiffin, and Sark.

Will Saban have time for this shit?

I want to know how it’s even remotely possible how Nick Saban cannot win a national championship with that loaded roster. He reminds me so much of Richt.

This makes three of the last seven national championship winning quarterbacks who were recruited to Georgia to play different positions.

Had only Richt/Murray run the rub route in 2012…..

Bama’s secondary looked like a bunch of stiffs against Clemson’s receivers. Who recruited those guys?

So it is the recruiting but not the coaching?

Someone thinks they are being cute. It’s not; manifesting Dunning-Kruger Syndrome is quite childish.

Calm down Shirley. Meh, Burson and colleagues (2006), writing in JPSP, pretty much debunked that nonsense but in the last couple of months it’s used to explain the election results and why people voted For Trump. It it’s really bothering you I’ll happily stop….no problems.

You missed my point entirely, but at least you know how to use a search engine and read the wikipedia article.

Now if you need to be a dick about it fine. Be a dick. Goodness you’re not the first elementary school guidance counselor I’ve run into. Go for it. Coloring books are on-the-go way. But quit snatching the psycho babble outta the air. It’s dishonest and you ain’t the sharpest knife in the drawer either Shirley. We good?

I ignored multiple posts of you initiating being a dick to me. They persisted, so I replied in kind. If your little odyssey is over, I will be quite happy to move along.

Would someone be so kind as to explain the question of the “pics” pass routes Clemson was so successful running last night. Are they legally questionable? Do people confuse this with “illegal pic” calls in basketball?
Saban was upset about some aspect of it (besides that it worked). Clemson scored twice on that play on the right side of the endzone. It’s very effective when done right…but something seems fishy about it. ?? It kind of looks like downfield cut blocking..but I don’t know.
Any opinions or knowledge on this????

Pick / Rub routes are semi-legal. You have a buffer from the line of scrimmage of 1 yard where a WR can legally make contact with a defender (kind of like 5 yard buffer for a DB to jam a WR). After that, it would be an illegal block downfield before the pass is thrown. For a legal rub route, the WR wants to run their route in a way as to make the two DBs collide with each other. It is still legal for the WR to make contact with the other DB so long as they do not adjust their route so as to make contact.

It looked like a clean rub to me. The DB tried to jam the outside WR to the inside. This took him and the WR right into the path of the other DB. He had to go around the two allowing Renfrow to get open.

  16. There’s no question his absence had some effect. But whether he could have focused on the task it hand and gotten the job done…well, we’ll never know.

Clemson was the better team. They had a good game plan and executed it well. Congrats to them.

Enjoy the long off season, Dawgs. Talk to y’all next season, Lord willing.

  17. OK ,I’ll be the foil…..what am I missing? Bama puts up 40 plus with Kiffin and 31 without him. I see a connection but apparently knowledgeable football fans do not. I’ve said this previously on this blog….Kiffin is a prick but he is a talented OC and play caller. I stand by my previous position that a superior organization protects and insulates problematic but talented people who can contribute to the overall goal of the Process. This lose falls on Saban for not being able to accommodate Kiffin for just one more week.
