Sigh.  Why don’t we just eliminate the middleman and become Alabama fans?

The house looks shaky but give ’em credit for picking the right logo.

In addition to the message, check out the precision on the privet. The whole thing looks like it was being held up by that tree to the right of it

That barn has been painted with some message for at least the past ten years, maybe more. It is shown on the SEC network promo that gets played at times during TV games. Unless a tornado hits it, it ain’t going anywhere. The message is different every year, so the number of coats of paint will hold it together if nothing else does. Better point: if Trust the Process evokes a sigh, what would you prefer?

    • Something UGA-centric would be fine.

As a fan base, we should be able to come up with something better than ‘Bama lite as our highest aspiration. YMMV.

Perhaps it would be better for some of ya’ll for us to be “Bama Ultra Light as we have been for the past 30 years or so

When you get your own Barn Sign, you can broadcast your own messages, Sir.

You obviously aren’t familiar with the Barn Sign. Visit my Facebook page, search for “UGA Football Barn Sign” to learn about its history.

Not phased by a blog, for which the Barn Sign is bigger than. Don’t need anyone’s approval of message selection. Plenty of supporters as not to be phased by negative opinions, which everyone is respectfully due to speak. You have your blog, I have mine, on the side of an old country store. I get the feeling there is bit of CMR residue in this particular blog. Take care.

No need to be offended by some of the suggestions or comments. I’m sure we all appreciate what you do. Your work has become part of Georgia tradition and we love it.
I may misunderstand some of the comments but I feel that, like me, some here want the success like Bama (and others) has produced (mainly wins on the field) but maintain the FULL Georgia flavor with ALL traditions and slogans that have become synonymous with Georgia football. ‘The Process’ has a big Bama flavor/connotation to it. I mean, we don’t want to start saying ‘rooool Dawgs’! If Kirby is successful over the next few years, we want it to be a ‘Georgia Boy’ that did it and a Georgia dynasty with Georgia slang all over it.
We don’t want the feeling of mediocrity that we have developed lately but we still want to be ‘us’ when we start winning. For years we have joked about how Auburn wants to be us…well, I don’t want to give Bama fans ammunition to start saying the same about us.

I repeat. No knock against your work. Go Dawgs!

P.S. CMR was a DGD for many years and took this program to the next level, which I hope Kirby continues. So there is no shame in having respect for the man. He is NOT the problem here.

What’s telling is apparent guilt by an interpretation that my assumption was an insult. I rooted for CMR for a long time. Put a lot of positive messages about him on the Barn. Bragged on his results. I have nothing bad to say about CMR. I have moved on to Kirby and support him now. This blog doesn’t seem to share that sentiment.

I’ve covered just about every historical and modern UGA slogan on the Barn. Using the word “process” is no more tied to Bama as Glory Glory is to UGA rather than Auburn. I do however understand the point you all are making.

To me and apparently thousands of approving Barn fans, the message was sufficient for folks to keep positive perspective on our program after the UF loss.

Don’t worry, the message hasn’t been championed as a UGA slogan. It’ll never be on the Barn twice and won’t be printed on any tshirts. I intend to replace it shortly after NSD, as I do every year.

It’s just a message on a Barn for goodness sakes.

Thanks be to those with kind words about the Barn. We appreciate the support.

“The Process” is more about Nick than Bama. It goes where he goes. He probably should have trademarked it.

Perhaps it would be more accurate to say “Trust Kirby has learned the process well enough from Saban to fix UGA football and bring us a National Championship” but that doesn’t really roll of the tongue and too long for the side of a barn but I get where the painter is coming from even if was wholly plagiarised.

As to something UGA-Centric, “The Georgia Way is Dead” has a nice ring to it. Would that it were true…

“Attack the Day” is the message on UGA media. “Go Dawgs!” would be another option. “UGA’s Got Smart Ideas!” Is something silly that just came to mind, but at least it is a UGA message.

  5. “Attack the Day” might be better, but I think UGA can get behind trusting Joel Embiid. He seems nice.

  6. Attack the Day, GATA or something similar would be better than “Trust the Process” because I trust nothing from the state of Alabama other than I-20 and I-85.

How about “5 more yards!” Or “This is the year! (but if not, next year is DEFINITELY it)” or “1980, it wasn’t that long ago”

FYI trust the process is also the phrase used by Sam Hickie in rebuilding the Philadelphia 76ers before he was fired last year.

I wanna puke everytime I heard the “process” mentioned with UGA football. It’s like Saban has invaded our souls without the jewelry. It’s not the word but how quickly Saban haters embraced the dark side. On a positive note, the nicely trimmed hedges are a great touch with the right slogan.

“Have Faith in our Procedures. Go Dawgs!”

Because I’m too lazy to look it up…Has anyone in an official position at UGA ever actually used the phrase, “the process”? My suspicion is that the phrase is used by Georgia fans hoping that recent departures from the Georgia Way, dating back to 2014, to the way today’s big time football programs are run will yield big time results.

It would be more tolerable if it was “budget” basketball. Fox is getting paid very well to make sure Georgia basketball maintains the tradition of mediocrity that is so important to Georgia athletics. The Fox and McGarity apologists will point out that Fox has had a winning conference record for four straight years, something that has never been done before. This line of “best ever at Georgia” thinking is crucial for the “Georgia Way”. No one seems to care that we go from absolutely terrible to mediocre and fans seem happy about it.

I’m guessing “The Georgia Way” is why we can’t or don’t try to attract a big name or at least a top-notch basketball coach. The way I see it the University of Georgia should be able to attract top coaches in every sport…Athens Georgia is God’s country!…or at least St. Pete’s. I guess I’m a little biased though.

The respective athletic budget information can be found in this link.

            http://ope.ed.gov/athletics

Very few established P5 coaches are willing to compete on half the budget of their competition.

This is why Greg hires inexperienced head coaches or head coaches from small programs like Fox and Stricklin.

It’s never been about winning here, it’s only about controlling costs and funneling proceeds to the UGA foundation.

            This is The Georgia Way.

^Word. Until we have a wholesale cleaning out at B-M things will always remain the same. Since the Falcons are playing today for the NFC Championship it is appropriate to point out that many said the Falcons would never be a winner as long as Rankin Smith and the Smith family owned the franchise because the Smiths were so cheap. That was right on. Since Arthur Blank took over he has NOT been cheap and has been relentless in his pursuit of a championship even though there have been some ups and downs. UGA athletics are controlled by skinflints who only give a damn about money. We can change HCs every year–it won’t matter until that rat’s nest at B-M and at the AB is cleaned out.

Hey guys, Saban did NOT invent the process coachspeak. He’s definitely the most popular to use that but he was not the originator.
