After that post, I hear “Tears of a Clown” playing in my head.
Orson S. was a riot, back in the day. Speaking of riots, where’s Doug?

Florida’s class truly is a disaster, and I’ve never seen such a power program coming off a relatively good year struggle as much as they have on the recruiting front. Last years class also was subpar for them (though not as bad as this one), so McElwain surely is doing his part to empty the cupboards as quickly as possible.

One of their top prospects decomitted yesterday, and another whom they thought was going to commit instead committed to Miami. Exactly zero of UF’s recruits are ranked in the top 20 in the state (according to 247), and the fear now is that even more might jump ship before NSD.

With the exodus of talent leaving for the NFL this year coupled with their disastrous recruiting, if we don’t get the upper hand in this rivalry starting next year, then we have some serious coaching deficiencies on our hands.

All true. But they still beat us.

    • Gosh. I guess I’ll have to quit posting about Florida.

Post what you wish. My point was all this talk about the Gator tribulations all may be true, it’s just that despite all these problems they still beat us with such bad, by Gator standards, teams. We can’t get out of our own way against them. Gosh, indeed.

In all fairness you invited the comparison when Georgia was listed above as one of the teams recruiting better than FU. It is perfectly legitimate to move on to anticipated future results at the WLOCP.

            • Mayor, I didn’t invite jack shit. I am amused at Hall’s angst, period.

And the post I responded to wasn’t discussing future results, either.

Other that that, you really nailed it.

I agree Senator. The whiny UGA fans that walk around with their head down are pathetic. FU won last year, I expect to beat them next year, and regularly in the future. UGA doesn’t lose because FU just shows up, and we don’t lose because we play on a neutral field under equal circumstances. I don’t have my white flag out, and I don’t bow to Gators. We win when our guys want it badly enough, and execute the plan. Too many let Gator fans and the media (seriously, the media) dictate how we should view the series. UGA has always led the series in my adult life, and I don’t expect that to change. Win the East guys, send the turds back to the swamp. Tired of hearing their shit, but even more tired of those who bow to their program. And by the way, take the lousy AD you sent us back!

                • Please take the lousy AD back. He can go count their beans in a office in the bowels of the UF athletic building somewhere.

You’re right, Mac. We were on the verge in 2014 of retaking our ownership of the rivalry, and then the team decided not to show up in Jacksonville.

“Why is it that during recruiting season [Georgia] sign all the great players, but when it comes time to play the game, [Florida] has all the great players? I don’t understand that. What happens to them?”

        • Which brings us back full circle to the strange concept that I can’t publish snark about a team Georgia lost to without there being a virtuous mention of that.

I guess I’m not getting the point. Hubris? Glass house stuff? It’s not like I didn’t grouse when Georgia lost last year.

Why does it matter with regard to Hall’s post?

See above. Also, UGA has lost to FU so much and so often, even when the Dawgs had better teams, people are gun-shy about it. Spike and Dawgy1 made perfectly normal comments.

            Like

            • Again, the idea that I carry Georgia’s water when I post snark about a Florida fan’s angst is bizarre, to say the least.

I guess I can just stop posting about any school the Dawgs have ever lost a game to if I can’t accept the burden you and the others feel I should bear.

Just forget it. I guess I’m just too dense to get your point and what you’re so pissed about a couple of comments me and Dawgy1 put on here. They were not directed at you or meant to be critical of you in any way. I made my point earlier and that was the end of it for me. Nobody said you can’t post what you wish. It’s your blog. We said nothing bizarre on here. Mayor summed it up well. Wow.. let it go.

Until UGA starts beating Florida on a regular basis, trash talk looks weak—sort of like Sakerlina or Tech trash talking UGA. Get the picture?

Trash talking is ALWAYS weak. Anyone who has to engage in it looks weal, and insecure. Friendly, good-natured banter is fine, especially around games with a smile. Bad-ass, big mouthed talking looks childish and like a substitute for real prowess. Every dog has his day, but winning cycles up and down for each team. Wasn’t that long ago that TN thought they were God’s gift to CFB, and about that same time Bama couldn’t even win their own state’s championship, or attract 2nd rate coaches to the open job. Enjoy the good times but never get that butt overloaded. And bow to no one, especially FU fans whose darker day seems to have come.

Actually reread Mac’s post. Mac is the one who was talking trash. About how he “doesn’t have my white flag out” and how he won’t “bow to the Gators,” etc. Sounds like a sissy talking to a bully through a fence.

My interpretation of the comment was that he was saying we have seen this all before–the Dawgs out-recruiting the Gators and STILL losing the game even when we had the better team. And that is fair comment on your post even if (1) you didn’t anticipate it; and (2) you don’t like it.

Well on the even brighter side if Georgia can get much better talent than Florida maybe our Alabama Head Coach can beat them. It seems to be his plan to get the Process to work. I wish him well.

I wasn’t reminding you of anything. I fail to see why you think that was directed at you. I am simply pointing out that notwithstanding all the Gator woes lately of the Boom hire, the OC problems and consequent offensive problems, the QB drama and on and on that UGA cannot manage to even hardly stay competitive with them. As you reminded me earlier, a good snark is a good snark. And I love them at the expense of the Gators more than anyone. I live in Florida, I’m surrounded by these assholes all day at work and when I’m at the grocery store. I am not criticizing your snarks or posts. I’m simply commenting that UGA has lost it’s way when we play them and has for a while. It is indeed relevant if we as UGA fans can’t recognize that, I think. Again, I was not reminding you personally of anything. Just crying in my beer, I guess. Nothing more. Nothing less. No more to read into than that. No offense was intended.
