Jake Fromm isn’t worried about competing for a job, because he’s got the bigger picture in mind barely two weeks after stepping on campus.
Fromm said he and Eason haven’t discussed the competition to come.
“We haven’t really talked about it, you just kind of know,” Fromm said. “That’s what Coach (Jim) Chaney is doing now – he’s looking for someone to replace me. That’s the way it goes. It’s college football now. You’ve just got to take it one step at a time.”
Don’t worry, Jake. Whoever that next guy might be, rest assured that a portion of the fan base will be pushing for him to start ahead of you one day based on G-Day QBRs.

Why isn’t Fromm starting? I talked to some guys that said the O-Line and the receivers love him and wish he was the starter. We need to get him in there and see what he can do.

Fromm is a welcome sight to this team with his talent, work ethic and his maturity. He’s a Dawg through and through and there is a sigh of relief going up knowing that he will fill the bill for UGA or he will die trying. He already has shown love for our school and for things other than football. He will continue to pull receivers in to catch his throws and those of Eason with not much of a drop off between them.

Eason’s performance in the fourth quarter, with the lead, throwing to his left, into a Westerly wind, while facing cover 3 is awful. I CAN’T BE THE ONLY ONE TO NOTICE THIS!!!1!

I’m pulling for Jake as I try to do for all our DGDs. He appears to have a great attitude and a mature outlook. As I read the linked article earlier today, I found myself wondering how different he might feel this year versus how Eason felt last year. Don’t know if it’s true or not, but it seems that their stories couldn’t be much more different. Eason was a left coast big fish in a small pond who traveled 2000 miles across the country to be the anointed one for UGA (and probably eat his first Chik-fil-A sammich). Then along comes a home-cookin’ hoss from Middle Georgia who grew up dreaming of playing for the Dawgs and soon he’ll be living the dream, too. Two great stories and we Dawg fans get to cheer for both of ’em!
