For some reason, there is something weirdly appropriate about the fax machine and signing day. But I digress.
Anyway, if you want a decent summary of where things stand before things get rocking and rolling, Jeff Sentell is pretty detailed. Even better, he’s free.
It’s Georgia, so on one hand, it’s almost a little unnerving that there’s so little drama going into today… which is not to say there’s a complete absence on that front.
By and large, though, there shouldn’t be too many shocks to the system. (If you think about it, considering Georgia’s history, that is kind of a shock in itself.) That being said, I would keep in mind what Sentell has to say about Eric Stokes, Jr. and his signing, because if there’s nothing else one can say about Smart’s recruiting this season, it’s for certain that he’s managed his signing numbers very carefully.
The lack of drama on Georgia’s front means that I’ll try to keep more than the usual eye on what surprises are in store for the rest of the SEC East, particularly to see if Florida closes with some serious momentum.
