Recruiting the recruiters

If Jim McElwain’s two most recent coaching hires live up to their reps, in state Florida recruiting is gonna be more brutal than ever, especially when you think about the new coaches at the mid-major programs there.

Mark Richt had better step up and do his job in South Florida.  Hurting the Gators’ recruiting efforts is good for both Miami and Georgia.

CMR has actually been recruiting pretty well down there. Going to really hurt the Gators this cycle.

The level of talent in coaching and recruiting is kinda ridiculous in the state of Florida right now

I love it. My guess is that we’re about to see all those programs in Florida undermine each other, such that an enjoyable level of parity overtakes the state.

I always thought the best thing about Richt going to Miami was to try and hinder the Gators somewhat. Still, lots of talent in Florida to go around.

You know what is really going to hurt the Gayturds is it is going to be next to impossible to get preferred walk ons out of Florida. They, like most of the Florida schools, are going to have to give scholarships and that means they will be limited. Why would a kid walk-on when FAU, FIU, USF, and UCF will give him a ship. Will they still get walk ons? Sure they will but they will be the old style best player on the frat flag team. Depth on the special teams and scout teams will be way off.

I don’t mean this to sond ugly or harsh, and I don’t mean to disparage the walk-ons we’ve had who’ve performed admirably, but…

I hope we are not worrying about our ability to get walks ons into the program a year from now. If we are, something went wrong with The Process 2.0.

When we sign a 5 star long-snapper we’ll all know we’ve arrived at recruiting nervana.

Well, thank goodness CMR has a renewed passion since leaving UGA.
