Those pesky expectations keep rolling in.
SI.com lays an SEC spring football power poll on us and sets Georgia at number three, behind Alabama and LSU.
Georgia bulldogs2016 record: 8–5Expect a breakout season from quarterback Jacob Eason, who started as a true freshman last year, and from the Bulldogs’ defense across the board, which was inexperienced in 2016. Nick Chubb and Sony Michel may be the best running back duo in the country, and they’ll take the heat off Eason as he continues to develop.
I’m sure that’s the plan, anyway. Whether it comes to fruition depends on an offensive line that develops and a coaching staff that becomes more capable on game day.
One thing’s more apparent. Kirby Smart’s honeymoon period is about done, at least in the eyes of the national media. We’ll see if that’s the case with the fan base soon enough.

What a guy
It only took him a decade, but Mark Emmert finally made good on his overdue pledged donation to the University of Washington.
The recent fulfillment of the pledge comes after USA TODAY Sports reported that he hadn’t kept his promise and was being called out for it by a prominent university booster.
Emmert, a Washington graduate, served as the university’s president from 2004 until 2010, when he left for the NCAA and stopped payment on the $100,000 pledge after donating $51,000, according to records obtained by USA TODAY Sports. The original pledge form he signed in 2006 promised he would pay it in five annual installments starting in January 2008.
Asshole.
Maybe he finally needed the tax write off.

Dedication
Nick Chubb, in case you hadn’t realized it, is simply wired differently from the average kid.
If anybody deserves to go out with a bang in his last college season, it’s Chubb. Let’s hope his teammates help make that a reality.
