Shaqin’ up

Look who’s footloose and fancy free again.

Louisville senior cornerback Shaq Wiggins announced on Twitter Monday afternoon that he is transferring from the Cardinals, who begin spring practice on Tuesday.

Wiggins has earned his bachelor’s degree and presumably will be eligible to play right away at a new school next season.

“I would like to thank the University of Louisville for allowing me to be apart of such a great University and football program, but I have decided to part ways and transfer else where. I am very thankful and blessed for all opportunities but this decision is for me and my family,” Wiggins posted in a series of tweets.

So where might the grass be greener for Mr. Wiggins?

A former transfer from the University of Georgia, Wiggins was close with former U of L defensive coordinator Todd Grantham, who left for the same position at Mississippi State. It wouldn’t be a surprise if the Bulldogs become an option for him now if they have a scholarship available.

No, it wouldn’t.  We all know Grantham loves experienced DBs and Wiggins would sure fit the bill in that department.  If it happens, Mississippi State’s trip to Athens gets a little more interesting than it already is.

Looks like from an academic standpoint, he made the most of his year of sitting out.

  2. Good for him that he graduated. It would be very interesting if he ends up in StarkVegas.

On a separate note, I wonder if his singing skills have improved.

You can’t make this stuff up.
Nobody would believe it if it was fiction and not fact.

meh. I liked the kid. He played well for us. Graduated from college and I dont believe was ever in trouble. He seemed to just be a causalty of the Pruitt experience.

Meh. He was a ‘me first’ guy and threw his teammates under the bus. See Gator Bowl vs Nebraska on the 99 yard TD. His mouth is was and will always be bigger than his skill set.

      Have fun in Starkvegas, Shaq.

If I recall, Shaq Wiggins was the player who sent a tweet/post in July of his freshman year about “made a mistake” in his choice of UGA because he wasn’t looking like the starter. In July, like less than 60 days of being on campus, he was whining and wanting out. I am sure he is more mature at this point but it was a taste in my mouth that this was one guy with decent talent that would fall short of his potential because of attitude.

So you dont have strong feelings about the expectations around highly paid coaches, but you have strong feelings about your expectations for the kids that we dont pay.

      that seems consistent.

LOL, that is a complete cluster of what i think about either of the two unrelated subjects. How in the hell did you mix all that together and completely whiff on ANY of my thoughts? Speaking of inconsistent, you applied a partial thought in one subject discussed in Germany, to another completely different discussion a month later in Australia, so yeah, you may find some trouble relating things and finding any consistency, especially with your erroneous interpretations. Does this type of thinking go on with you often? I don’t know if there is an app for that, but there should be a doctor somewhere who can counsel you.
