Stay thirsty, my fans.

So, one year in to Ohio State selling beer in the stadium, it turns out sales generated more than $1 million in revenues and school officials report they actually experienced fewer problems with fans at games this year than in previous years.  Sounds like a win-win to me.

Now, if they could just do something about their fans’ taste in cold malty beverages.

I can only imagine the politics that’ll come with deciding what brands to carry and how to price it in Athens…but that’ll be a nice problem to look forward to one day.

^^^This….I’m sure it will be a purely open and fair bidding process to select an alcohol vendor when the time comes (barely able to keep from bursting out laughing as typing this comment).

  3. Odd quote: “It was the first full year of beer sales at the university’s home football stadium, which does not sell wine or liquor like some schools do.”

Sounds defensive. Who sells liquor at home games? Tulane does I think but…. New Orleans… What can you expect in the land of drive thru daiquiri shops?

Did you also notice they’re drinking from the beer cans in the photo. Since they don’t even let you take the water bottle twist tops to your seat, made me wonder if UGA would require a red solo cup for its beer…

7.3% of beers sold were Blue Moon? I had no clue OSU’s gay fan base was that large.

    • Come on, their most famous coach was named “Woody!” Seems pretty damn obvious to me. Btw: you forgot to say “not that there’s anything wrong with that.”

Sitting in the sun drinking a heavy craft beer isn’t my favorite thing…what sells the most nationally is generally what is going to sell the most in stadiums, etc…it’s not rocket science.

  7. So, the school is making more millions off the players. Did the players get any cut of the booze money?
