I’m sorry, but this made me laugh.
Wynn has gained 20 pounds since the offseason began, which included a lot of eating early on. To help add the mass, Wynn was given the green light to eat plenty of sweets, including the decadent items offered at Krispy Kreme and Zombie Coffee and Donuts. At Zombie, Wynn said his go-to was an Oreo donut, with the cookie crumbles stuck to the frosting.
All the money spent on S&C, on dietitians, and when in doubt, the go-to winds up being junk food. I wonder if I can use that as an excuse the next time my wife tells me I’m putting on weight.
That dietitian needs to be run out of town. There are much better ways to put on weight than to stuff your face full of donuts.

What are you guys talking about? Donuts are health food. The best kind are the chocolate covered ones with creme filling. I ought to know, I’ve been eating them for years and those donuts haven’t done anything bad to me. I’m in the best shape of my life. That’s why I assumed the role of team dietician. I want my players on offense to be BIG!!

Shameful.
No problem if it was eating a ton of cheese and eggs for breakfast, or steak and sweet potatoes right before bed, but sugar does nothing for an athlete.
Just read the ESPN article about PB&J in the NBA, and in there it detailed how sugar basically derailed Dwight Howard’s career.
If this is a certified nutritionist giving the advice, it borders on malpractice.

I agree with everyone that sweets are not the way to gain weight.
However, when in Athens, if you get a chance, go to Zombie Donuts. OMG, smack yo mammy good. Fresh, hot. Holy lord…

The hue and cry surprises me. I am sure they are the only things he is eating, and if he is working out enough and his blood sugar is normal, I don’t see anything wrong with a donut here and there. Calories be calories, and if he wasn’t eating enough to gain the desired weight, this is a way to go, and if he’s working out properly it’s not just fat.

Why are we spending hundreds of thousands on hyperbaric recovery chambers and monitoring the players intensively via little IoT devices and otherwise employing cutting edge stuff to improve recovery and performance – and yet are 20-30+ years behind when it comes to nutrition?
