… is a Pacific Islander defensive lineman. Go get him, Kirby.

maybe he could teach the rest of the team the Haka (or however you spell it). That’d be pretty cool to see.
The last time the Haka was done at a Georgia game this happened to the team that did it.
Those were the days my friend, we thought they’d never end.
I’ll take Soulja Boy over the Haka 😉
Not really — flawed team with poor assistant coaches in key spots, along with glaring foundation issues that would rear its ugly head a short time later. That game was actually the last hurrah, so to speak, before the eventual fall.

I worried we were going to seriously injure Brennan. After Howard crushed him, he should have been taken out of the game.
Let’s not forget that Willie Martinez was our DC back then, and that was one of the very few bright spots of his otherwise poor tenure as DC here, thanks to Jon Fabris.
Little known fact about that game — several weeks before the game, Jon Fabris noticed that the Hawaii center made a certain twitch exactly a second before he snapped the ball, thus they D players knew going in they would have a huge advantage as far as timing the snap. In the pre-game locker room, several players were literally giddy in excitement, with bets being made on who would record the most sacks, etc.
Sure enough, it worked like a charm, and the Hawaii OL (and entire O for that matter) literally had no chance, as again the UGA D were able to time the snap almost perfectly every time.
1:24:00 is still one of my favorite plays in UGA history.
This is one of my favorite games ever. I watched the whole thing again last night. Like Someone else on here said, it was the beginning of the end. Wasn’t it the following year when we were ranked 1 and then everything went to shit? Boise State, Alabama and the blackout?
The cheap shot on the punt doomed them if they ever had any chance.
Yep, that just pissed our guys off.
I still remember June Jones telling his guys to go out and play like they belonged when Fox broadcasted from the Hawaii locker room pregame. It confirmed to me that we were going to beat their @$$3$ and take their lunch money. Before the game one of the Fox talking heads was talking about Hawaii and the potential for an upset, Jimmy Johnson immediately said Hawaii had no chance.
Tons, and I mean tons of media talking heads were predicting a Hawaii win, including Mark May and others. Those who knew better scoffed, as they realized UGA’s massive talent edge would have its way with Hawaii.
Then after the game they all said they picked Hawaii for entertainment value. Thom Brennamen made my ears bleed that night with his constant blathering about Hawaii’s offense.
Keep them out of the grasp of BYU and all the West Coast schools.
If he’s really that good for Pete’s sake don’t let him go to Auburn.
