To tell you the truth, I’m surprised there are issues to which Jim Delany will take no for an answer. At least for now, anyway.

“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23
Good for them. Though I’m sure McReserveFund is all ears on this one. Look for Georgia vs Directional State on a Friday in our future.

I agree that Boss Delany showing any flexibility is the biggest surprise but bending on this issue is an odd one. Observing Friday night as a HS only time slot is pretty silly to me, but it is Northwestern so who cares? I would love to see him make Franklin and Harbaugh take a forfeit if they refuse to show on Fridays when scheduled so my decision would be to grant Northwestern an exemption and tell the other two to shove it.

Have the schools who won’t invest their financial windfall back into their athletic programs play on Fridays.
Rutgers and Georgia can go home-and-home.
