Baiting the click baiter

A CBS writers’ poll that is both, in his own words, “silly”, yet still worthy of a Jeff Schultz piece — man, you have to admire a master baiter working at peak effort.

Seriously, why even play real games anymore? Why not just run constant computer simulations of hypothetical games with hypothetical participants so the hot taek artists can have more made-up garbage to talk about…

Football is beneath him, but he gets paid to type things…about football.

In the big picture, Kirby has only one year to work with and it was full of clock management and play calling issues. 54th, while disappointing, is hard to argue. We expect, and will demand, and significant jump or he won’t be here long. Master baiter, yes, but hopefully it also challenges our coach similar to how he’s challenged his QB.

Agreed. Kirby can turn those sorts of comparisons upside down in a span of three months. And while our football “product” looks as good on the shelf as most any other, it’s the variability in the product’s performance in the marketplace that takes the shine off. Driving out that variability is of course on Kirby and staff. It’s in the process, man. We’ll see soon enough in South Bend how that is progressing.

Seems just about every year, we’re pulling off the lot in a Ferrari and then the entire transmission falls out the bottom of the car before we even get home

  7. ….and he managed to slip in the myth about Tech academics being a deterrent to signing top flight athletes. Seriously, I think he pasted that to a Word Doc many weeks ago to save it for the day he had writer’s block.

Tech academics,…the program, the myth, the legend. yeah, those football players are geniuses but they get it from their HC. How many years did they have vacated wins for? And that were the ones they were caught for. Dead heat between Tec and UNC f or ACC academic cheating scandals recently.

Mother of former Tech student insists there are two grading standards for any class at Tech enrolling football players. Don’t know if it’s true but I’m buying it. And that calculus they always brag about? Most of their guys take it up the road at the old Southern Tech.

Wasn’t a deterrent to signing Sammy Drummer AND KEEPING HIM ELIGIBLE (Drummer’s SAT: 410.)

Wow the comments section after that column is brutal trollsville. I think I threw up a little in my mouth. Georgia will again beat Yankee Tech in Atlanta in front of a majority Bulldog crowd.

Rating Kirby at this point is moot. The jury is still out if Coach Smart can be a head coach and finish games. There is not much question that last year Paul Johnson got more out of his athletes that Kirby did.

That’s some first class trolling there……….and I’m talking about the writer of the article, not the ones in the comments section.

Chip Towers is still the ultimate Click Baiter / BS Meme Generator. No one is better at planting patently false ideas into the heads of the ignorant. I bet he spends half his work day surfing Georgia boards laughing at all the dumdums parroting his BS memes. I’m waiting for him to pounce on the “recruiting too hard” quote from Markaviest (or however the hell you spell that non-nane) Bryant.

The AJC. Great nose picking sports journalists that either didn’t know about the investigation and punishment of GT until the day the verdict came down, or else decided to sit on it in deference to the dumb genius that committed the infractions. Either way they’re jerk-offs.
