What do you get if you use ESPN’s preseason 2017 Football Index (I know; just roll with me here) to rank SEC schedules in order of difficulty? This:
Here are the SEC’s toughest schedule rankings, based on ESPN’s Power Rating Index:
1. LSU and Mississippi State 83.6; 3. Vanderbilt 82.5; 4. South Carolina 80.3; 5. Florida 80.1; 6. Texas A&M 79.8; 7. Alabama 79.3; 8. Arkansas 78.3; 9. Auburn 78.1; 10. Tennessee 77.4; 11. Kentucky 74.6; 12. Ole Miss 73.7 13. Georgia 73.5; 14. Missouri 68.7 [Emphasis added.]
Favorable schedule, loads of starting experience on defense, a starting quarterback and coaching staff with a year under their belts… you can’t deny the stars are aligning for Georgia’s chances in 2017. I won’t pronounce it a given that the sea has parted, but it’s gonna be a lot harder to excuse another year without winning the division.
I think we get to Atlanta with a stout defense. Hopefully they open up the offense enough to make it interesting once we get there.

IF things progress as nicely as they certainly could, Eason will be a hell of a lot better QB by the time the SECCG rolls around than he will be the first game of the year. If the Defense can be stout enough to get the Dawgs to ‘lanter, the offense should be (if it stays reasonably healthy..don’t forget we have to play in the cowpasture in K’ville) humming enough to make that game interesting or better.

No it won’t. At least not for some.

You’re right, of course. But I’m confused. Since I used to settle for mediocrity and others demanded excellence, am I now demanding excellence and the others are settling for mediocrity? How can that happen?
I’m so confused.

Every year we don’t win it is a disappointment to me….3 teams from the East regularly compete for the East..we should always be one of them. Mizzou should win it once every 20 years.

It’s east title or bust, and I’m a unabashed Kirby backer.

I don’t need UGA to win an SEC Title for me to be happy with next season.
I think I just want to see us compete for the SEC and get to the SEC Title Game.
If we end up with 10-11 wins and barely lose to an undefeated Bama in the SEC Title game, I would still be pleased with the direction of our program

You guys seen this composite preseason poll? It includes the cbs poll that the Senator mentioned yesterday (they seem to be the only ones down on the team).
Everybody else except cbs has UGA at 10-14. CBS has UGA at No 18.
Hey now, people think we got a top 10-15 program right now. It’s a consensus, we don’t suck, like at all.
