“Even honorable men sometimes make a mistake.”

And we all know that college athletic departments are teeming with honorable men.

University of New Mexico Athletic Director Paul Krebs has been keeping a secret under wraps for two years and it involves that ill-fated golf trip to Scotland.

“I think looking back on it two years later I understand why people might question it,” Krebs told KRQE News 13 earlier this month.

Well, gosh, as long as you learn from your mistakes, that’s okay.

Amateurism strikes again.  Although, now that I think about it, the golfing was amateur, right?

Reminds me of the speech from “Julius Caesar” but he is an honorable man.

And I’m sure, absolutely sure, he really meant to disclose it before somebody discovered it.

Well if we didn’t need so much damn money we wouldn’t have to steal so much damn money!

There’s gotta be a Breaking Bad meme somewhere in all that.

I mean they’ll just spend it on golf trips to scotland.

Easy to jump on and make fun of ’cause it seems so obviously fraudulent. The next question I would ask, though, is what was the return on investment? How much did those donors that golfed for free then donate to the university? I bet it’s more than the “anonymous” donation that paid back the expenses of the trip.

These “Honorable Men” didn’t charge a baggy or two of “Scot-High Lander” to their bill, did they?

That was just stupid. Doesn’t they realize that this is why you have boosters? They can’t pay the kids, but boosters can damn sure pay for AD executives to go on vacation. Are they stupid or does UNM lack boosters with enough money to take them along as guests on a 10K per person vacation?

Simple. These yahoos need to pay back the money spent on the golf trip. Problem solved.

“It was an intensive experience and I understand why people may question it,” uh yeah, sounds like what I said after my 16th, 18th, 21st, 30th, 40th,…birthday parties

Just got off a call with Loran Smith…he was looking for his drive which may have gone in the Firth of Clyde. It was windy but best I could tell he was saying ” nothing to see here”. Not sure if he meant his ball or the Uga athletic dept

Abdullah got his masters & doctoral degrees from the NATS. Not surprised he considers this an excusable mistake
