Nothing touches the James Brown-Vince Dooley shot that adorns this blog, of course, but this ain’t half bad.

UPDATE: For some reason, that Twitter feed is now private. I couldn’t find that particular picture on the Intertubes, so here’s an alternate shot of the duo that’s pretty cool.
I believe the ole Willie is about ready to cut him…

That’s a cool pic.
Forgive me, I had no idea who the guys in the picture at the top of the blog were. (Only 26 here). What is the story behind that photo?

James Brown, the Godfather of Soul, and Vince Dooley, Georgia’s 200-win head football coach/athletic director.
I’ve never been able to get the real story behind that photo. It’s apparently a press conference, one that I would presume had something to do with Brown’s “Dooley’s Junkyard Dogs” single.
If anyone out there has any more details, please share.

Explaining that pic is about the equivalent of explaining a Zen koan. Just roll with it my man.

Not sure how I’d take it if Shotgun Willie looked at me like that.

I think that needs to be the header at the UT blog.

I agree. Both on the UT blog header and on it being the second coolest picture of an old coach.

Bummer, I’m “not authorized” to see the pic. Could the owner of the tweet have shut down access due to excessive traffic from the Senator’s blog?

Yeah, I can’t view it either …

Your Godfather-VJD pic is the reason I kept coming back to this blog when I found it 3-4 years ago. There is nothing cooler in the history of college football. It legitimizes everything ever posted here. Thank you sir.

Maybe Vinnce could shed a little more light on the pic, I know he has seen GTP.

Ever wonder where Willie shops? Or when he finds time? Even Amazon cannot keep up with him.
