Today, in that plus five bucks will get you a latte at Starbucks

Conventional wisdom may suggest that the Cocktail Party sets up the eventual SEC East winner to finalize victory in November, but we all know how much conventional wisdom regarding the division champ has been worth the past few seasons.

Seems to be a pretty sensible breakdown on how things will develop..you can paint almost any scenario from those musings. Somebody should do a flow-chart on it…with the most likely tracks the boldest and the least likely a dotted line..or something like that. Georgia should follow that boldest track. To me, it is all about coaching. Everything is in good enough shape to pull winning the East off…will the coaching be up to it? If CKS is as good as his roster, we’re in like Flynn. (who the h is Flynn, anyway?)

Until the pundits can quantify the bed wetting that UGA does at the WLOCP their predictions are useless. If we have to beat UF to go to Atlanta I’m of the opinion we aren’t going. It makes no difference that we have better players or it hasn’t since Vince hung it up. We find new and inventive ways to lose. UF goes into the game knowing they will win, we go in wondering what the hell will go wrong this year. I watch the game and pull for the Dawgs but I gave up being surprised when the usual crap happens.

Have any of you guys ever gone back and figured what would have happened to all those good Georgia teams in the past who didn’t win any championships if they had beaten FU? UGA would have been FU and FU would have been the also-ran. Eric Zeier might have won a natty for the Dawgs his sophomore season. UGA likely would have won a natty in 2002. There are a whole lot more, too. That one game has screwed up the Dawgs for almost 30 years. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results. Do something different to try to change things up–even if it’s wrong!! Better than just accepting the status quo….forever.

P.S. We are going to be saying the same things 28 years from now after another stretch of 8-20 and the same people will be talking about the great “tradition” the WLOCP is and that’s why we have to leave it in JAX when really it’s all about THEM having a fun fall trip to the beach.

Imagine my surprise when clicking the link to find an article NOT written by Tony Barnhart.

So now the Zaire kid is going to fla…is that enough to be a difference maker?

The only real missing piece to the Gator’s O is at QB. If the kid fills that void that pretty much seals the deal for them IMHO as far as winning the East is concerned. Many a slip… as the saying goes. The kid’s abilities remain to be seen. If he was so good why did the Domers bench him last year?
