Don’t delay; do it today!

Shockingly, it’s mid-June and season tickets are still available.  You’d think Dawgnation would be falling all over itself to get a crack at this powerhouse home schedule.

Sounds like a timely subject for the next edition of The First Word.

As well. Can’t wait to buy even more tickets. The demand from friends and family is overwhelming. Snark.

  3. Personally, I am waiting until the price for a season ticket dips below $100.00, with unlimited hot dogs and Coke thrown in.

I guess all those follow up calls and emails I got when I didn’t renew wasn’t just out of a sincere desire to make sure I didn’t “forget” to re-up after all.

At least you got a call. My Dad gave up his season tickets after 50+ years. Not a peep from UGA. Guess they thought he just died……………….

When you die, they damn sure contact you. Three years ago when my mom died after she and my dad had been season ticket holders for more than 50 years, we got a letter about a month after her death. Essentially said, “We’re sorry for your loss…and you’re no longer eligible for season tickets. In the words of Porky Pig, “that’s all folks!”

    • I actually replied to one of those emails with my reasons for why I was giving them up. I didn’t even get the courtesy of a “sorry you feel that way.” Complete radio silence once they realized the spigot from my wallet was shut off.

I got the “Sorry you feel that way” email and I suspect I ruined it for the rest of us because I was not happy about getting that response.

At least you guys received an email. I got a call confirming I wasn’t renewing the tickets and then “Ok” with a hang-up after the confirmation. You’d think that for someone with 130k combined sports points, they would at least ask “why”. Obviously, they either don’t care or they can’t/won’t do anything about it.

I responded to two of the emails with the reason and got no response but yet more follow up “have you forgotten to renew” and “the deadline has been extended” messages after that. I gave up getting through to them.

Pretty crappy not to at least extend that courtesy to someone after 50 years, I haven’t been a season ticket holder anywhere near approaching that.

Why should anyone cough up the money and time for a sorry home schedule of games likely to include at least 2 or 3 noon kickoffs? I hate to give up my season tickets but after Notre Dame in 2019 I’ll be better off buying the tickets I want off the secondary market.

While I agree it is a sorry home game schedule do not confuse that with the Dawgs winning all those games. The only true walkover is Samford. App State has a history of winning games like this–just ask Michigan. Missy State looks like it got its act together late last season and may be a pretty good team. Mizzou almost beat the Dawgs last season–it took a 4th down TD pass from Eason in the final minute to win that game. South Carolina–who knows? But the Cocks should be better than last season. UK–Georgia won by a FG kicked in the last seconds of the game last year. I don’t think Georgia gets through the home schedule unscathed. If the Dawgs play like they did last year they just might lose half of those games.

There are good 300-level seats still available for your enjoyment. You have the First Word on this and there is no better time to #COMMITTOTHEG than right now.

Please do not take this as an indication of declining fan interest in our very cost-effective sports programs. Media revenues and private contributions from our top 1% were at all-time highs for the 2016-2017 academic year and we once again attained all our financial and moral metrics.

This is what separates The Georgia Way from all imitators and it is yet another Bulldog Point Of Pride!.

Mississippi State or Kentucky as the marquee home game of the season? Enough to make one pine for Nicholls State…

SCDawg, my snark detector didn’t go off but maybe it needs re-calibrated. If not, is this a warning sign that the goose who laid the golden egg is on life support?

Not to worry. As long as all that sweet money from espn keeps rolling in, all based on cable subscriptions, everything will be just fine.

I’ve heard/read that SCU literally gives away thousands of unsold tickets in effort to fill up the stadium on game day, and/or offloads them to secondary markets who will then sell them for $8 or whatever.

Let my season tickets go after 35 years. No confidence in our athletic dept. In addition the parking situation was not fan friendly. I still love the Dawgs and follow them religiously but it was time to stop pouring money into a hole. I will say I was contacted several times about renewing.

  18. In fine Georgia fashion, they allowed the big boosters to hoarde even more of the very modest allotment of tickets ND gave us….on top of another garbage home schedule. Just another bulldog point of pride. Totally killing the heart of support for this program. I’m seriously left dumbfounded when trying come up with a good reason for why this leadership is still around.

I guess get the cash while the gettin’ is good because you won’t even have most of the long-time, die-hard everyday Joe left if/when interest really starts to wane. Hmm…sounds like the undoing of some now defunct American companies. Shit on the little man, your backbone, until the well runs dry.
