Waste not, want not.

Give Greg McGarity credit:  you never throw away a perfectly good cupcake.

The Georgia Bulldogs have finalized a date for their future football game against the Murray State Racers in 2019, SicEmDawgs.com has learned.

Back in 2016, DawgNation.com reported that Georgia had scheduled a future home game against Murray State for the 2018 season. At the time, a copy of the contract indicated the exact date of the game was to be announced.

However, just a few months ago, Georgia officially announced their 2018 non-conference football schedule and Murray State was not included. Instead, UGA replaced Murray State with a home game against the Austin Peay Governors for Sept. 1, 2018.

According to a copy of the “second amended and restated UGA football game agreement” obtained from Murray State University via an open records request, Georgia will now host the Racers on Sept. 7, 2019.

Didn’t your momma always tell you always to finish your meals?  Think of the starving FCS programs out there.

By the way, nice use of an open records request loophole there.

I guess it’s official. Kirby is in the Pat Dye club for scheduling. The toughest game he’s scheduled since his arrival is UVA. No offense, Senator.

Smart wanted more big openers, McGarity has been following the Florida model of scheduling since before Smart.

Nobody on this blog has been more critical of FU than I have but I beg to differ. Look at FU’s schedules going back and you won’t find any Austin Peays. Sure they schedule 2 cupcakes per year (they play FSU annually so that eats up one potential cupcake slot) but their cupcakes are D-IA, usually MAC teams or Sunbelt teams. Once in a while they play Miami and get their asses handed to them but not annually for that very reason. Georgia’s recent OOC scheduling is a new low for all SEC teams IMHO. After last year I guess McCheap is running scared that a cupcake just might beat the Dawgs and his ass might be on the line. Appy State just might be the one, too.

    • And my Dad, a UVA grad, would not take offense either. Used to go watch them play with him, back when UVA really sucked. It was very sad, but we did see some good teams-not UVA though. Still wondering how UVA cleaned UGA 31-0. That was not worth a cross country trip.

If I bought season tickets, I’d quit buying them over a crappy schedule like this.

I think after seeing this & next year’s HORRIBLE Home Schedules, considering the IN HOME experience (Beer for $1, Awesome Bathroom, A/C, Great Seat & Replay), the cost of donation & tickets….this may be the year to pull the plug on season tickets after 22 years. It’s sad that McGarity is killing the game day experience instead of enhancing it. With today’s TV & technology presence, UGA should be doing everything it can to enhance the Game Day Experience & keep people wanting to attend games….Who knows, maybe this is their way of getting enough people to give up their season tickets so they can capture an entirely new group of pawns, cash cows, puppets…I mean fans.

Racers and Governors. What. The. Flip.

On the bright side, I’m guessing “Band Day” and “4H Day” will be making a comeback soon. I attended my first UGA game thanks to band day…

Kirby needs to get to work amending the open records laws of every state that has an institution with which UGA is ever likely to communicate. The work’s just getting started! #AttackTheDay

I wonder how an institution with comparably limited resources like Murray State was able to comply with a FOIA request within the time limit. Remarkable. Maybe McGarity needs to dispatch a team to Murray, KY to study their operation.

Rest assured, we have put measures in to keep these very unfortunate events from happening in the future.

We are announcing that beginning this morning, all future Georgia Way football game and entertainment contracts will include very severe indemnities for interfering with the J. Reid Parker Director of Athletics’ privilege of delivering the First Word.

We regret the inconveniences this may cause for our contractors, but it is imperative that any future scheduling or entertainment contracts be announced at least 90 days after the Hartman Fund contribution deadline has passed.

The value of your #COMMITMENTTOTHEG is always our top priority and it must be protected. And that is yet another Bulldog Point of Pride!

I’m no fan of cupcakes, but with Notre Dame at home and Georgia Tech on the road, it’s not terrible. Plus we get Texas A&M’s first trip to Athens (finally!), so nowhere near as awful an odd year at home as we see this year.

We need to make Auburn play us at home two years in a row flipping them to the year we play GT at home really ruined our hone schedule for every other year.

Games like this are very, very interesting when you’re in a suite. I highly recommend it.

Kudos to our administration for continuing to put together top quality home schedules. I couldn’t be prouder of the work they do.

Oh wow! I’ve waited a long time for us to play a quality opponent like Murray State!!! Tell the rest of the board great job. You guys should raise prices and give yourself a raise.

P.S. I hear Buford has an open slot for 2020 and 2021. Maybe we could do a home and away?
