Beyond scooters

Behold, the most Georgia-sounding arrest of the offseason took place in Nashville, not Athens:

Vanderbilt football player Sam Dobbs was charged with misdemeanor reckless endangerment when he landed a drone in a large crowd in downtown Nashville on Fourth of July night, according to Metro police.

Police said Dobbs flew his drone at 9:55 p.m. Tuesday over a large crowd in the First  Avenue and Gay Street area during Nashville’s Let Freedom Sing Celebration, an event that drew an estimated 240,000 people. He was among 17 individuals charged with various crimes during the celebration.

And Dobbs hails from Douglasville!  How did we ever let him get away?

Jimmy Williamson’s got to be kicking himself right now.  What a lost opportunity…

  1. I wonder if he used his COA stipend to buy that. 😉

  2. Isn’t there another college town that needs someone with the skills of Mr Jimmy Williamson? Like Gainesville, Florida or Knoxville, TN? I wonder if anyone has ever tried to hire him away? Mayberry?

As much as this UGA sports fan abhors the athlete-profiling culture of ACPD, they’re at least committed to doing their jobs. Their look-the-other- way – or at times outright extensions of the AD – counterparts in Gainesville, Knoxville and Auburn are a sorry excuse for law enforcement. Student and resident safety is secondary to that of eligibility of elite athletes.

ACC PD wont waste this one.. Look for new drone laws… aimed directly at the football team after their reading this

Rest assured, we are already in front of this and have initiated the recruitment of Mr. Dobbs as a graduate transfer.

This extremely late kickoff for App State is ridiculous.

Georgia fans better be ready to obey the law that day or things could get unpleasant for them.

In the linked article they show a video from another time that player used a drone to make a different video. Its a spoof of a sorority video. At the 1:35 mark of the video, though, you can see that Vandy has a Georgia G helmet in their locker room. Looks like an SEC solidarity thing. I hope we don’t have other team helmets in our locker room…

Maybe it is like the old Bobby Bowden FSU trick of taking a piece of sod from the away field after a road upset. Vandy beat us in Athens so it has a Georgiahelmet. I do know, just assuming.
