The new guy

Honestly, when I read quotes like this,

“We’ve gotten a lot stronger and a lot more explosive,” Johnson said. “I got a lot stronger and more explosive, and a bunch of the freshmen made big jumps.”

Kelly said it’s no secret that the Vols dealt with numerous injuries during last year’s 9-4 season.

“I think we’re making sure we take care of our bodies more than we have in the past,” he said, “and that’s something we really need to take into consideration.”

… I wonder why football programs don’t hire a new strength and conditioning coach every damned year.  After all, who wouldn’t want to get stronger, more explosive and more careful all the time?  It’s guaranteed!

You would think that after all the improvements we’ve heard about over the years from just about every program in CF, they would have evolved into the perfect S&C program by now and everyone would be using it…they should be manufacturing supermen by now.

A new S&C coach one year, DC the next year and OC the following year. You’ll have the strongest players and an offense and defense that focuses on the things that win football games. You’ll never lose!!

Taking care of their bodies more than they have in the past? They finally got the hygiene thing down?

I always cringed when I heard our players talk like that…the results on the field never matched the happy talk…hope it is the same for booch and crew…

Can Booch afford to be more explosive? Boom?

I’m sure that f%#@ing turf had nothing to do with the injuries.

Mini coach says “talk and write about anything other than unmet expectations, problems with my ‘agent’, champions of life, and round-robin coaching changes”. ….All fizz…no liquid.
