First Chomp in The Swamp

Nice gesture, Gators.

I thought about the chances of Georgia doing something like that, but then realized the only way that might happen is if McGarity challenged boosters to pay for it.

Rest assured, we are already ahead of this and are announcing the ‘First Pledge At The Hedge’ initiative for the 2017 football season.

The Georgia Way will provide seven lucky fraternity or sorority pledges, who have never worked a game in Sanford Stadium, an all-expenses-paid trip on a Milledge or Athens Transit bus for them and one guest to scan tickets, work a concession stand, and clean restrooms Between The Hedges this fall!!!

The 2017 home schedule promises to be a very cost-effective one with no Top 25 teams, so your pledge and guest will be able focus solely on his or her own Sanford Stadium experience!

Quotes of Note from the First Pledge At The Hedge Initiative:

“To me, being a pledge means upholding the ideals of service, humility, and process. It gives us opportunities to learn about process and customer service obstacles in a humbled environment and moves us forward in our careers and personal lives.”

“Being a pledge at the hedge gives me hope for my future. It opens doors that would not have otherwise been opened (and cleaned). What an awesome way to meet new people and #COMMITTOTHEG!”

So submit youe application today at georgiadogs.com and experience yet another Bulldog Point of Pride!

  2. Have to hand it to ’em, that’s a good plus for the program.

    J. Reid Parker Director of Athletics Greg McGarity actually thought this one up while still serving as assistant AD at Fla before leaving and it took the gaturds this long to implement it.

The athletic department is just too busy maximizing revenue selling excess tickets on StubHub to think up anything like this to benefit fans. I wonder if vendors will still be giving away cheap trinkets at their exhibits in Sanford Stadium this year? That’s a nice touch.

Here’s something amazing. Since 1990, UF is 21 and 6 vs. UGA. UGA, over the same time frame, is 22 and 5 vs. Vanderbilt. In essence, we have become Florida’s Vanderbilt. We will not, and should not, be taken seriously on the national stage until this series becomes competitive again, IMO.

They are also have a better record against us than we do against Tech (20-7) for the same time period. Damn that’s awful.
