There were mistakes made on many sides. And some of those calls were to fine people. Is anyone going to point out he wouldnt have called if these services weren’t available? Where is the media attention for that?

    Sorry.

I just watched last years Liberty Bowl for the first time. I have little doubt they could beat that team. Yeah. I’m nervous.

  3. If we give them our best shot, we’ll beat them by 20+. If we don’t, who knows what will happen. I don’t care what their record has been the last 2 years. If we can’t beat them, it’s going to be a long season, and someone’s seat may be hot by December.

Honestly we will know a whole lot about our coachs after that first game…..,especially after the first 2. If If we start 1-1 or heaven forbid 0-2, I think the chances are good we could spend a decade in the wilderness. Man! It hurts to even think that.

0-2 would be a disaster, I don’t see being in the wilderness if Smart is fired after year 3. UT had a void in talent after Lane and UT must recruit out of state to win the division. UF was loaded on D but short on offense, and they’re back to back East champs. Hopefully we’re not discussing candidates in 4 months but if we are I think it is still a quick turn around.

IFFFF Smart was to be fired after year 3, you have a lot more confidence in the Administration to make a good hire than I do, but let’s not even think about that. Fall is around the corner and judging by the Senator’s posts the last few days, hope springs eternal.

With fingers crossed I’ll take the Dawgs to cover the spread. If not, oh boy………

I can agree on thomas on his 1st paragraph. I am not bold enough to pick a score as nothing would surprise me.

Get the W hopefully without injuries and move on to ND. I like to hope Smart wanted to teach toughness against Nichols keeping it on the ground and was closer than expected. I hope they put App St. down a few TDs early going to the air if they have to. If the OL is as improved as hyped, their D should not be able to match up.

BAH!!!…..if Mark Rick can beat them by 35 with an inferior team and inferior coaching (Miami/Georgia)…..Smart can beat’em at least by 70.

I think we kick the crap out of them. Got a lot of talented players who’ve been just absolutely dumped on by the media for a long time. I think they come out with their hair on fire, and with a lot more confidence in what they’re doing in year two of this regime. Plus the crowd is most likely going to be nuts. Just my two cents.

Boise State had lost two games in three years heading into that opener, including wins over good Oregon, Virginia Tech and TCU teams. They were good, period, whereas App State is pretty good for a Sun Belt team. If Georgia doesn’t win this game relatively comfortably, there are likely some real problems.

Yes, that Boise team returned like 18 starters, including a 5th year Senior QB, no comparison to this match up. I think we were holding our own until we lost Ogletree in the middle of the field. Not by the Vegas line, but that would have been an upset by a young UGA team had we won. At the beginning of the season, Boise was a better team, imo. Plus, our guys had to feel stupid/embarrassing. running around in those gross unis.

“Tennessee had to rely on it’s generous share of luck”…I see what he did there…Last year’s UGA and Apst teams lost to a very charmed BoochandCo.

No, UGA will not overlook Appy in an opener at night. That doesn’t guarantee we cover a 14 point spread in a contest where there will be 1st game mistakes, especially as we look to finalize our OL and DB combos without Parrish. (Parrish’s likely absence for close to all of September does jeopardize our chances to reach 10 regular season wins though, significant player to lose.) I would say fretting the Appy game is unnecessary but it is The Georgia Way and we all will sweat a little bit just for Munson’s sake.

The Mountaineers do return 17 starters off a decent team so they certainly aren’t pushovers, but the HC is right, they could have gotten none of our guys, and we would not/did not pursue theirs. No excuse for losing to obviously lesser talent. I think the 38-14 range sounds right, but we are certainly capable of struggling and having to grind it out, so I will go with the 14-17 range for margin of victory just to join the nervous nellies on opening day. Losing to Appalachian State would be an epic fail and insure 2017 will look as bad as 2016 did. Just not going to happen.
