Just a quick note about one of this week’s early lines.
Note: Georgia at Notre Dame is currently off the board because Bulldogs’ QB Jacob Eason is uncertain for the game with a knee injury.
*******************************************************************
UPDATE: The line is out to Georgia plus-6.5 now. Good motivation for Fromm.
Vegas is uncertain? Aren’t we all?

Phil Steele gets advanced lines from Westgate. He said it was ND -4 and that Eason’s absence wouldn’t change the line. He said he expects it to tick closer to -3 as the week goes on.

-4 ND if Eason plays , -9 if Eason doesn’t make trip . Phill Steele should call me. Go Dawgs!

Won’t go higher than -6 for ND. I think it stays around -4 and Eason is definitely not playing.

We’re going to beat them regardless. We have better talent and they have Brian Kelly.

Have you watched the highlights of ND/Temple?
I see two big backs, a qb that can run and a physical OL. Power football and a mobile qb have been problems for us for quite a while.
It’s going to be quite a battle up front. Carter and Bellamy are going to have to play huge.

Saw what you saw… I would feel much better if I had not seen it. QB reminds me of …oh Lord…DJ.

I still think we beat them. I won’t be surprised if we lose, but I expect that we’re going up there to win and not just show up.
This is the type of game the current staff was brought in to win … time to start proving it.

Can’t disagree, but that didn’t look like no 4-8 team on film to me. I think you’ve got two teams with a chip on their shoulders and something to prove. This is going to be an old fashioned slobber-knocker.
We should have the speed advantage. I just hope we can hold our ground up front and set an edge.

Totally agree. It’s big for both teams. Kirby needs his Hobnail Boot moment to inspire confidence in the program’s direction. I think he gets it Saturday night.

Fuck that. Too stressful. I’d rather enjoy a second half of watching a decisive beat down.

I’ll take a beat down, too. 😉

Saw a lot of good things out of Fromm…also saw some “beginner’s luck”. I also saw what appears to be a much bigger, stronger football team…is Temple better than Appy State? Not sure about the speed deal…ND looked pretty quick on defense…but against Temple, so… Everybody keeps telling me we have quality depth for the first time since the war…if that’s really true we should know about the middle of the third quarter Saturday. ND is certainly a different kind of challenge for the o line than Appy.
I am hopefully optimistic 😦 and all that goes with that.

Oh…the Kharmic Bitchez are scheduled to have a presser toward the end of the week. My sources in the deep Bitch state tell me one of the issues being discussed is whether we can have a Hobnail Boot Moment without Munson to name it.
The Bitchez are looking forward to Tech and Butch. (Can we lose?)

Temple won 10 games and their conference last year. They are at least equals of appy state.

Shit…sorry I asked. Watched approx one quarter of the game…Final score indicates about the difference I saw between ND and Temple.

Here’s a youtube of four quarter highlights…. Lamb is better than the Temple guy…check the read option from ND…

That’s more than I saw before. ND defense looks suspect. ND run game has to be controlled or that offense will be tough. I hope we get a new set of refs….

Usually ACC refs now. We know how that can be. Maybe we get to take SEC refs with us, not that it would make a difference. Hey maybe Don Cherry will be the ref he is too cool “gave him the business”.

If we get the ACC refs, dare I say “Penn Wagers”?

Temple gashed em some for sure….Temple has some good athletes, just no many of them…if they had Taylor Lamb they mighta got closer, there.

If ND runs a HUNH offense, our defense will get caught at least a couple of times trying to substitute.

Have you read their boards?
Any time anyone gets upset with the Georgia fan base, just spend 10 minutes on a Miami board 8-).
The consensus there is:
Their defense looked slow and unmotivated, the secondary looked confused and hopeless, Diaz (the DC) has always sucked and been too aggressive–this is exactly why he was fired at Texas, and the players have been reading too much media and think they are great and need a serious attitude adjustment.
Their offensive line was poor, Richt’s play-calling sucked, again, and their quarterback has zero accuracy and throws balls at random.
They will be lucky to win 8 games this year in the weaker ACC division.
What disaster caused all this uproar?
A 41-13 win against Bethune-Cookman, in which they scored on every possession in the first half on long drives (except the last one, which was another long drive but the clock ran out), the (new) QB went 17/28 for 217 yards with 3 TD’s and 0 interceptions, their number 1 back got 148 yards and 2 TD’s off 16 carries, and the number 2 back went for 103 yards on 11 carries. Miami wound up with 555 total yards vs B-C’s 350, and Miami played a lot of players in the second half.
Good thing they aren’t Texas or Texas A&M fans. Coral Gables would have imploded from the angst on a level akin to being struck by a nuclear North Korean ICBM.

Speaking of Texas, read “Barking Carnival” for some professional level sarcasm. Such classic posts as “Texas dominates third quarter, 20-7”, or “Texas hangs 41 on Maryland”. Great stuff. 🙂

Well given what I saw this weekend we’ll have to be lucky to win 8 games. ND, MSU, UT or UF (just because they always find a way), Auburn, Vandy or KY and last but not least GT (if Kirby and Co have not discovered the way to defend the Triple Option) all have a better than punchers chance of beating us. Fromm looked like Cool Hand Luke but he throws pretty little rainbows. SEC Db’s will eat them up. It’s all up to the offensive line and I’m not optimistic. Fire away my Kool-Aid drinkers fire away.

I expect ND’s grass to be really long Saturday. I hope Fromm can manage to have a cool head like so many previous freshmen QBs we’ve had to play early. I hope Chaney doesn’t dumb down the O too much. Last year was tough too watch at times. Then again, it’s probably up to how much Fromm can handle and how confident we are In the D and ST to keep us in it. Fromm being an early enrollee should really pay dividends.

I think ND may have artificial turf now. Seemed to be in the highlights of the Temple game.
Something that I heard on the UGA App State broadcast was that on a lot of plays we were only sending out 1 or 2 WRs. It was hard to tell at home anyone at the game notice if this was true???

True. It’s FieldTurf. This is good for the quicksilver Dawgs’ LBers. I really like Fromm coming into this scenario; bet he’s loose as a goose.
