Lots of blabbing going on from both sides. I imagine it will get a little chippy.

App State tried that last week, was very pleased to see our guys not take the bait. Excellent discipline, really like to see that upgrade in our guys. I don’t expect ND players to try that, and we certainly don’t need to give them 15 yards of field position at any point.

“So it’s a comprehensive philosophical decision to get the offense behind the chains.”

Bold choice, there. Really thinking outside the box.

  3. Mr. Conventional Wisdom just nodded approvingly and jotted that down for future reference.

The side steps our RBs have to take to avoid a D-lineman in the backfield, kills their momentum hitting the hole. If our OL can give them a crease to shoot through, it’s all down hill from there. Our RB need to hit the holes with speed and power.
