You don’t understand. To get the full flavor of Tony’s brilliance, you have to bob your head in sync with the words and pound your fist on the table as you read the quote. As Tony would do on the table. That’s what makes it so definitive and powerful. “Georgia. Is the SECOND. BEST. TEAM.”

See what I mean? They pay him by the body language.

What I particularly enjoy about this concise use of the Twitter format is the subtle hedge on the bet, i.e., “right now,” as in “subject to change.” Because being safe certainly means not taking the risk of making a declaration that may one day prove to have been even slightly off the mark.

I’m ready for great wisdom of the UGA vs TN game. “Well if UGA scores more points then TN, UGA should win.”

cAN SOMEBODY EXPLAIN TO ME HOW BAMA IS RANKED NO 1 WITHOUT A WIN VS A TEAM CURRENTLY RANEKD IN THE TOP 25, WHIE UGA HAS 2 WINS VS TEAMS CURRENTLY RANKED IN THE TOP 25?

Bama doesn’t have a history of implosions after hot starts. And they’ve won four NC’s in eight years, while UGA hasn’t even played for one since 1981.

Pollsters should have learned their lesson after last season annointing Bama as the No 1 best of all time, until Clemson kicked their ass. Bama or any of the 6 teams above UGA do not deserve it, they hAVE NOT BEATEN 2 TEAMS CURRENTLY RANKED IN THE TOP 25. only UGA has. And after that, UGA still has the best defense and special teams in the country, with a QB that just put up the best passing performance of the week, and the rb’s are CHubb, Michel and Swift, none better than that backfield, against a ranked team. Agaubst ranked teams, UGA has the best scoring defense in the country. Media bias bullshit. We’re talking THIS year.

Alabama can only play the teams on their schedule. So far, they’ve crushed every team, including #4 FSU. They’re ranked first by the advanced stats. They have one of the, if not the single, best coaching staffs in the game. They recruit better than anybody else in the country. And they are on the forefront of every loophole in the rulebook.

UGA has upped their recruiting since Kirby came to town. But the best we can hope for is to recruit as well as Alabama. Kirby had some on the job training last year. And the best we can hope for is that he can manage games as well as Saban. We’ve got the eye of the tiger through four games, but we haven’t been as dominant as Alabama.

So, no argument from me that Bama is the best team right now. Will they finish the season with no losses and a title? Maybe not. But, like last year, it’s going to take another team knocking them off to prove they’re not the best. Hopefully that’s UGA. But right now, we’re an underdog to Auburn, so I’m not so cocky as to think we can handle Bama.

Alabama has to run up the score against unranked teams to try to be relevant this year. You do know FSU is 0-2 and unranked right? Are you saying that’s Bama’s best win, vs an 0-2 unranked FSU team? Why rank them No 1 then? Recruiting? Kirby and Bama were both top 3 last season, but this year, Kirby is passing Nick in recuruiting according to 247’s composite rankings has UGA at #14 and Bama lagging at #24 http://247sports.com/Season/2018-Football/CompositeTeamRankings So, since Bama has not beaten 1 team ranked currently in the top 25, and UGA has 2 wins, there really is no contest.

No I’m poking fun at blowhard non-thinkers like Tony Blowhart who always says what the majority of his colleagues say has no brain yet designates himself as Mr College Football. I guarantee you Nick will never win another championship, his lucky charm is gone and went to Georgia, I’ve seen it before, when Richt left Bowden, when Shoops left Spurrier, when Dantonio lost narduzzi, Saban has never won one at Bama without Kirby recruiting the guys or running the defense. And this yar, UGA is #1 so far, and it’s not even close.

            • Bama is often way down the list – til signing day. They will end up with the #1 class as usual. When we play Bama in Atlanta this year I will be pulling for us, but I ain’t betting against Bama.

Well, that is the Conventional Wisdom the last 36 hours, but is it so? We certainly looked like one of the top 3, maybe the best, but I want more evidence that we can play at that level consistently. The table was set for us by: 1) getting a night game, which guaranteed an amped environment and, 2) LSU making MSU look like the ’27 Yankees leading to much disrespect for the real Bulldawgs all week long. Of course, while it increased our chances to win and play focused, none of us could have projected the total domination we saw in every phase of the game. Most surprising to me was the brilliant play by our secondary people (especially Baker), that is the only question regarding our defense being elite. If they continue to cover and tackle like that going forward, we can compete with anyone. So don’t laugh just yet about that being too secure a limb, several games to play and while Auburn looks flawed, that defense may keep them in every game….and it is a road game.

anyone remember what his CW was last week after MSU trampled LSU? Or in the preseason when Heisman probably Jarrett Stidham was about to take the Gus Bus to Cammie Cam levels of wow?

I’m glad he likes us this week, but I’m not making any non-refundable plane reservations for the CFP just yet. Call me cautious. Our D looked great, though, no doubt about it. Let’s see if we can handle prosperity this week, though
