Update, I drove down to the corner store to buy a pack and Roquan cut me off, dragged me out of the car, beat me and yelled ‘NO!”
This defense is nasty.

I’m beginning to wonder if it’s even legal to have a defense like this bunch.
Can we say “Junkyard Dawgs” yet?

Fifteen players made solo tackles, i.e., they didn’t need any help.

Along with Junkyard Dawg tendencies, this group has a fantastic discipline that’s beautiful to watch outside the play being made. They look like they are expecting anything and will take care of it if it’s head ever shows.
Mel Tucker, you are giving us two teams to watch and enjoy. Thanks.
It’s not lost on us that Kirby is letting Tucker take the well-deserved plaudits and attention. Because of his successful background in D, it’s easy for writers and Kirby worshippers to label it Kirby’s D and he knows that. Nice move and it shows that Kirby is pretty confident in his own shoes as well.

I tip my hat to this defense. After living in Chicago when Mel Tucker was the Bears’ D coordinator, I admit to being skeptical when we hired him. However, he has these guys playing lights out! The game planning has been fantastic, they play with a serious chip on their shoulder and flat out don’t miss tackles. It’s a breath of fresh air to watch them do the little things like everyone hustling to the ball, making open field tackles and staying at home on the backside on top of all the nasty things they do with that front 7! I’m a believer in this defense and they truly are one of the best in country. If Defense wins championships, then things are looking up for the Dawgs…

What sent shivers down my spine was watching players I didn’t recognize late in the game, still dominating. The announcers noticed it too, and commented about how it doesn’t matter who’s in there because of all the talent.

I think they’ve got a few dollars stashed away for such.
And Kirby, especially if he keeps this up, has McG by the short hairs.
He’ll pay, he’ll pay ’cause Kirby’s won the day (and the next line would be something that ends with, “the Georgia Way”) All smiles here!

Rochester and Tyler Clark really stepped up after Trent’s injury. Our D gets even nastier if they see an injured teammate. That’s where ut and that craptacular field really f#*ked up.

yep. How bout Rice getting pulled for hitting their quarterback late… barely. Monty gonna start next year and I love this defense… mean and disciplined.

Among the the million other things Smart has to worry about, add keeping his staff from getting poached very soon.
