    I can’t really tell from his comments if he’s more unhappy about the start time because of the lack of exposure or he just prefers playing in the day time?

    The exposure thing I totally get – while i personally love the way it sets up, I can watch the East coast games early in the day and the PAC 12 games start at 7:30ish locally for me, I know that east coast viewers are typically not watching games that kick off at 10:30.

    But I thought most teams like playing at night, especially at home?

      I have anecdotal evidence on this but I think he is pretty upset that they don’t have early games because they don’t have the same kind of fan turnout for late games that they do for early ones. My wife is from the Pacific NW and we have some friends in Seattle. The UW fans get up early for the East Coast games to sail-gate, then like to go their game at Noon-1 for their game. The reason is so many go other stuff post-game. When we were out there a few years back staying with a friend who lives in Ballard near the Puget Sound, the beach was packed with folks who attended the Huskies game at Noon and then had come down with friends and family for a late afternoon/evening clambake on the beach.

      Most years they don’t really get summer weather up there until late August/September, so they try to take advantage of it.

    You can see his point. Hard to stay up and watch even good teams when they are stuck playing that late. Washington is a very good team and Petersen is a hell of a coach. You would hope that those on the selection committee are staying up to watch them play. A few more of these SEC Games of the week (aka, butt whuppin, and folks might decide to take a nap in the afternoon and stay up late for the PAC games.

      Hell, I’m grumpy when we play at 7:30 or 8:00. It’s really outside my old man routine to be awake past 10:00. Although, it’s pretty easy to stay up when the dawgs play like they have been so far…..

    They’re not complaining about that check the Pac 10 Network and ESPN are stroking them every year, and I bet he’s pretty happy with his multi-million $ per year salary he’s making as well.
