I have no doubt we cover. FU is about to suffer for a while and it starts 2 Saturdays from now.

I would lay 13.5 for a hundy.

Turnovers. That is realistically the only way UF has a shot in this game. UGA is better than them in every facet of the game on the field. But turnovers are such an equalizer.

Guys,
From someone that has been around a while now and seen many of these games, I wouldn’t be one bit surprised to see a very tight game in Jax. The Gators are coming into this game having lost two close ones at home, and everyone with a pulse in telling them how bad they are and that they have zero chance against this Bulldog juggernaut. Meanwhile the Dawgs have cruised and are being told how wonderful they are and to get ready for Atlanta. I’m telling you, I’ve seen this movie before (2002) and I know we aren’t going to walk away with this.
Go ahead and jump on those points but don’t blame me for not warning ya.

Amen. I’ve heard this song too many times and too many times it’s not “Glory Glory”. UF’s defense is the fastest we will face and they will be playing like their hairs on fire. Their special teams are good and their kicker is great except against LSU. Add to that Frank’s may not be great but he can throw the ball a mile and our weakness appears to be deep stuff. Dawg fight from the get go.

Agreed. Been burned in Jax too often over the years. While I would LOVE to curb-stomp UF, I will be OK with JUST WIN AND MOVE ON.
That being said, if these Dawgs get after it from kickoff, It could be a DVR-Ready type of game.
GO DAWGS!

This. In addition to 2002 I’ll throw in 2005 and 2014 as one of many examples where a special Georgia season went to die at the hands of an inferior Florida team. I badly want to see Florida humiliated but they haven’t lost by more than 2 touchdowns in 20 years. Not saying this can’t be a big win for us but Florida will not go down easy. They come into this game expecting all the bounces to go their way regardless of their record and unfortunately so do we.

Man, have the gayturds really done a number on the psyche of Georgia fans everywhere over the last 30 or so years. While deservedly so, this is a fans thinking. Not a single one of the players who are stepping on that field in Jax in two weeks have even been alive that long. This is a new team, new staff, new culture, and the beginning of a new era in Jacksonville, FL. Hope FU has enjoyed their run because we owe them a few curb stompings and I whole heartedly believe after watching both teams through 7 games that we are going to give them the first of many to come in 12 days.

Dawgs are 3-3 over for the decade, and 4-6 over the last 10 years. Kirby changed the attitude last year, we just didn’t have the team fully on board yet. This year will be hard fought, for sure, but we will wear them down, and wear them out by the end. Dawgs by three TDs.

UF’s defense is too good to not take this one very seriously.
Hopefully, we’ll heal up and dominate them with our own defense. That’s the best path to a comfortable victory.

If you look at the host’s conference ratings we’ve beaten the 9th, 11th, 13th, and 14th best teams. We have 3, 6, 7, and 8 to play. We’ve got to win a minimum of 3 of 4 to get to Atlanta AND also Tech and Alabama to get in the playoff.
We haven’t played a defense that can slow the run down without bringing extra people and we haven’t played anyone who can slow the run and cover at the same time.
There’s a whole lot to like about where we are but there’s a ton of work to be done. A near 2 td line in Jax isn’t going to quiet my inner Munson. I’d like to see us get healthy again at ILB and DL and get Patrick back too.

I’ve been to Jax for the CParty nine times, lost every one and got rained on in seven of them. I hate Jax. My wife’s family lives in Jax.
I’m staying home.

Not really a Dawg-related thing, but MAN is Clemson living off that national title last year. They didn’t just lose to a 20-point underdog in Syracuse…they were soundly beaten by a 20-point underdog in Syracuse…and they got a little slap on the wrist from the pollsters and the oddsmakers.
Compare that to Auburn who dropped like a brick thrown out of an airplane…

Well they lost two games, one of them by LSU who lost to Troy…they won’t hesitate to put the Barners back in any discussions if they beat us or Bama. Barn still gets a pass for the Newton season as the media loves to hype em up every season…GT of the SEC.

Everyone is so gun shy (and “richtfully” so after our conditioned, long walk in the wilderness).
We are going to beat the gators by 17 points. It won’t be close.
Then everyone will be wringing their hands over the barn.
At some point We need to get used to being the baddest mofos on the block. Getting up for some games and down for others – nonsense is over.

Yeah. I saw that too. The real bet is Geogia is 10-1 to win a nattie. That’s awfully good odds. There are several scenarios where Georgia could win it all. Georgia could beat Bama in the SECCG and get invited that way. The Dawgs could lose to Bama in the SECCG and still get invited to the 4 team playoff and beat Bama in the second encounter or not have to play Bama again if Georgia ended up in a different bracket and the Tide got upset in the first round. 10-1 is awfully enticing.

I don’t think you’re 2nd scenario is possible. IF UGA were to lose to Bama in the SEC Champ game and still get in I think it would have to be as the #4 which would pit us against them in the semifinal. Not to mention I have to feel like the talking heads and even Playoff committee would do what they could to eliminate the chance of a single conference championship game if 2 teams were to get in from the same league.

I believe I said very clearly “and beat Bama in the second encounter.” That’s the second scenario. (Reread above, please). The third scenario, to which you mistakenly refer as the second, is admittedly unlikely but is still possible if State Penn were to jump Bama in the committee vote and move to first or if Georgia were voted third by the committee. After all, we are talking about a committee that a few years ago when faced with a situation where the team that was ranked #3 won its final game by more than 40 points, then dropped that team to #5.

Consider the source, but I heard Finebaum (I’m not a fan, he was interviewed on an ESPNU radio show) last night say this about UGA: “I spoke with Danny Sheridan this morning, and he said if UGA and Alabama played this week, on a neutral field, Alabama would be a 13-14 point favorite.”
Who knows what happens between now and December, but that’s what a lot of folks are thinking at the moment. Beats the hell out of me, but I like what I have seen so far out of UGA. If we can keep building on that, who knows?

still no respect for ND, being an underdog vs UM. no way UM wins that game.

Just got tickets to JAX. Last time was 2014. What am I thinking? This team looked dominant against MSST and UT and then showed real vulnerability against VANDY and Mizzou. The keys are getting healthy on D and the OL playing their asses off. UF will bring their A game. No doubt about that.

Have been here in jax since 92 and never in ss years did I think we would win. The gators r playing with about 68 schlorship players and many 2 deep on d . I’ll give Derick credit where credit is due. He said when Kirby got here, that he would beat you with the roster. That is what will happen in jax. These gators are down and there ain’t no way I’ll take Fla + 14 Could we lose sure. I also think we’ll get most of the d back. Could they hit some 50 50 balls. Sure , but that is all they got. Won’t be easy because this is their super bowl but I’ll call it 38 -13 dawgs
