Aannnd… hate week is off and running.

Holy crap!  Smack talk from Gainesville. (h/t)

Bless your little blue and orange hearts, fellas.

UPDATE:  Gardner’s full quote is even more enjoyable.

“You say they have a great quarterback – I get it. He’s throwing simple passes – I get it. Anybody can throw a slant – I get it,” Gardner said. “But I mean, we’re just playing football. If you call him the best quarterback, so be it, but he has to play Saturday. We’re going to see what his best attribute is.

“If he can beat us with his arm, whoopty do.”

I swear, he sounds like Reggie Ball.

UPDATE #2:  I had to check to make sure I wasn’t missing something.  Florida is seventh in the conference in defensive passer rating, behind the likes of Mississippi State and Vanderbilt.

Literally the only thing I remotely like about the Gators is that they have a player named Chauncey Gardner.
I think what our insightful young friend is saying is that we welcome the inevitable seasons of nature, but we’re upset by the seasons of our economy.

At least they are nervous! Booger Eaters..

    • Spike….Not meaning to be overly picky but technically I believe the proper moniker is Booger eating morons….but than I guess you have to apologize to all morons so maybe yours is better. They’re too obtuse to be nervous.

I am reminded of when that Vandy player smarted off about Bama earlier this season. I hope for similar results.

If there is a Dawg in Heaven, we’ll hit a slant for about 67 yards and a score…

Just shows who is running things over there. I hope we don’t hear a peep out of Athens. I hope we bring the epic beat down.

Can’t wait to see week 13 match up between 4-6 Florida and 4-6 Florida State. I will be as invested as the GA Tech/TN game. Can they both lose?

Jim McLewain has officially lost control of the Gator’s football team;-) I have a feeling this could be another 44-0 beatdown of the Gators.

Best part about that quote is I think the slant route is something Fromm has struggled with this year. The out routes have been what he has the most success with if I remember correctly.

The deep outs have been his prettiest throws, but in terms of accuracy, he hasn’t struggled with anything. Some of his reads haven’t been good, but he’s a freshman.

If Chaney got wind of this, a lineup with 1 WR on one side, and run a slant and go…… pump fake the slant, WR takes off on a go and …………

  22. Maybe Chauncey should talk to the press less and work on learning to tackle more. From CFB Film Room:

Florida’s Chauncey Gardner, with 14 missed tackles, still has the worst tackle rate in the SEC at just 70.8%

Has anyone informed Mr.Gardner that the Gators can’t seem to find anyone (let alone a QB) who can throw a slant?

That articles tells me that they are going to sell out against the run and stopping the slant. They better have a corner that can out-jump Wims

This game will be a test of the team’s discipline. FU is going to come out and talk trash and be chippy for the entire game. They will do all sorts of “extracurricular” activities to try to bait our guys into unsportsmanlike conduct penalties or worse. The team cannot let the Turds get under their skin. ESPECIALLY on on our offense. They have done very well with this so far this season, but it’s going to be on a whole new level on Saturday We need to win with our pads; let them lose with their mouths.

    Way to turn a phrase:

“Florida football coach Jim McElwain revealed Monday that his family and players have received death threats amid the program’s 3-3 start.

“There’s a lot of hate in this world, and a lot of anger,” McElwain told reporters during his weekly news conference in Gainesville. “And yet it’s freedom to show it. The hard part is obviously when the threats [are] against your own players, the death threats to your families, the ill will that’s brought upon out there.”

McElwain would not go into detail about the nature of the threats, but he said they are a “testament to what’s going on out there nationally.”

“A lot of angry people,” he said. “In this business, we’re the ones that you take the shots at. That’s the way it is.”

Asked how serious the threats were, McElwain said he was not planning to contact law enforcement.

McElwain said he is not shocked by the level of vitriol among fans but took exception to the messages directed at players and families connected to the team.

“At the same time,” he said, “they know what they signed up for as well.”

I asked my wife if she remembers the 2014 walk of shame. She didn’t need to say anything. We just have to stay focused on hating the Gators and making sure we get a good parking space and get to our seats before kick off. If we cheer loud and consistent, the rest should take care of itself.

I’m not scared anymore. Saturday, we turn the page and add a new chapter to this series. You may not get the state of your team, but you will get the state of ours in 5 days.
