Kirby Smart and the team may not want to make a big deal about returning to the SECCG for the first time in half a decade, but that doesn’t mean we have to follow suit here at GTP.
Well done, fellas. Now comes the hard part.

It was nice to just get some help from someone else. Seems like that never happens.
Dawgs fans are going to be in debt up to their eyeballs after this season. Championship tickets are up to $700 on StubHub.

We won’t lose to an East team, no help needed.

So we backed again? Bah, I knew it!

Starting at $700 today, and climbing. I think I’m watching on the TV at home.
Very happy this morning with winning the East. And the sense that for the team, it’s not the goal, but a milestone on the road to a better destination

The $750 tickets aren’t in an acceptable place to sit/watch. Minimum seats I would take are now at $1250 and move up quickly from there. May go down on Friday for dinner/pubs to get a feel for it and return home to watch as I usually do. I would need 3 tickets, maybe 4, and would have $4-5K in them. That is about what the ND trip would have cost me and I was glad I sat that dance out, leaning toward the same decision. Plus, I may a shot at seeing these same Dawgs in ATL in January. 🙂

And much road work to be done. Awbun is South Carolina with much better players and worse coaching.
And, in passing, a tip of the hat to the Much-Maligned Boom…pretty good job there, bub.
On to the Plain of Birds.

what a season…I’ve been enjoying the ride like the rest of you…just an aside…the Buckeyes should be out of the playoff…even Herbstreit can’t save them now…

No doubt. After getting trucked like that, I bet Meyer had about 4 sad pizzas and more indigestion.

I hope someone rubs this in Herbstreits face on national TV.

Ranked # 1.
But.
Bama will beat Auburn. Coach Smart knows that.
Can the Dawgs do beat Auburn.
Can not be #1 in D1 until,
You are the best team in Georgia,
And,
You are the best team in Alabama,
And,
Kentucky.

How good is USC’s Hayden Hurst? Very good.
Difficult to sack a QB like USC’s. Deep in shotgun and quick release. He is a solid QB and player.
Muschamp has a very good team. They can play.
Would like to see him take down Clemson.

When our guys almost sacked him for a safety near the end, I can just imagine that the stadium would have fallen to the ground.

Did I have too much beer last night or did it seem those idiot tv announcers really want the Cocks to pull the upset? Asking for a friend..

Sure they did. And they can suck it like everybody else who wanted that as well.

Exactly. They wanted a good game; they didn’t want a blowout. And if you’re an impartial observer or a network executive, you always want an upset in a game like that. It’s good for business.
And I’ll tell you, if Bama and the Dawgs tango in Atlanta, both fanbases will complain that the CBS announcers hate their team more.

There were too many of them and they yelled the entire time. Also seemed to get excited every time our team gave up a pass play. There were some moments where they praised the team and Kirby too, but the broadcast seemed strange to me. Maybe they were trying too hard or something.

I think there were just too many in the booth, and each one felt like they had to say something.

For those who haven’t looked close at that “every 5 years” mojo thing, there really is something to it. NONE of those “every 5” years dating back to 1982 involve a season substandard among the surrounding seasons. In the last 35 years, there admittedly were 7 seasons between those “every 5” that were very successful: 1980-82 NC-SEC-SEC span, 1983 Cotton Bowl, 2003-2004 Top 10 finishes, 2005 SEC Title and 2014 Top 10 finish. However, there are still NO seasons in that 5-year interval that involve finishes below the surrounding years. It’s really uncanny. Hope Kirby’s Kulture breaks the trend of delayed gratification . . .

Lesser-noticed but still enjoyable: in years ending in 7, UGA has beaten Florida by double-digits 4x and counting (1987, 1997, 2007, and 2017).

True. And fairly bizarre. But none undefeated …. YET.

Best place to watch the game is Section HD.
The entire college sports “business” is corrupt as hell and the players are getting the shaft. Supporting it financially beyond watching it on TV is mostly a fool’s gambit.
(Exception: an occasional game, tailgating, holding onto season tickets, etc. Traditions are hard to break – understandable.)
