I’m sensing a trend here.
43.3/14.5 – Auburn is averaging 43.3 points per game in their seven wins this season. The Tigers are also averaging 14.5 points per game in their two losses this season.
The good news is Georgia’s defense is up to the task.
When they score more points than the other team, they win.

The team that controls the line of scrimmage should be able to run the ball.

Yep, and if the defense can set the edge, they’ll be able to slow down the running game.

By the way I don’t know where Dave McMahon gets his stats, but Auburn is NOT top 5 in scoring offense or defense. They currently rank 20th and 9th in those categories, respectively.

It’s even worse than that. None of the five he includes is in the top five in scoring offense. Notre Dame’s closest at 7. Only two of the five are up there in scoring defense (Washington and Alabama).

I think he may have meant they were one of five in the top 20 in both categories, a number I’m sure he arrived at because Auburn is exactly 20th (1/10th of a point ahead of Georgia).

I mean you think about the statement – “1 of 5 teams currently ranked in top 5 of both scoring offense and defense….” yeah, that’s pretty unlikely lol.

“There are four seniors listed as starters on Auburn’s offensive line depth chart who are seniors.”
I like the idea of teams putting out depth charts listing senior starters who are actually sophomores. That’s real gamesmanship.

I think there’s a very real possibility that we win this game going away this weekend, and I’m not normally optimistic. I can’t see them cranking up that many points on our defense, and if we get rolling, their team and their fans will quit.

That Stidham completion %….worrisome.

And that’s where my pessimism comes from. They could jump on us, and we’d be down 21-0 or 28-0 before we blink. Then, the crowd would be in it, and it might end up a long day.
I don’t know what to think or expect, but living where I live, I need to see the Dawgs win this one again.

Oh horseshit. What have you seen out of this team this year that leads you to believe anyone can jump out three or four scores ahead of us? We might lose Saturday but it ain’t gonna happen like that.

You think our defense is going to get jumped on 21-0 or 28-0?
We have given up 20+ once all year. I could see the Aubs getting there if Fromm hands them a TD like the Mizzou game (I love Fromm and don’t think that will happen again).
We will dominate both lines of scrimmage and control the ball. First prediction all week – Dawgs 27-16

Ben,
You and AusDawg85 need to relax a little.
This team is coached by a loser who knows his ass is on the line because he knows that both we and Bama are better than his team, he just can’t admit it out loud.
Auburn has only beaten cupcakes and some very average conference teams.
They’ve lost to the two teams who were actually pretty good defensively. We’re better defensively than either LSU or Clemson.
Stidham is just an improved, but still over-hyped, version of Jeremy Johnson who Gus told everybody that would listen was the greatest thing since Pat Sullivan.
He ain’t.
He’ll make some throws and they may score through the air a couple times, but I don’t see them scoring 28 points, not without a running game, which Gus relies on to run his offense.
They ain’t gonna run on our bunch, so it’s a moot point.
38-17 Dawgs

He’ll stress the secondary if given time. I don’t think he or Auburn’s offense are great at being patient if the deep throws are taken away, though. Obviously, pressuring him would be optimal.

Color me an outcast, but I agree with Matt Chernoff, and believe that the Barns OL will be the weakest unit on the field Saturday; the weakest from either team. And that’s a good thing for us. Bellamy could have a career day

43 PPG?
That average is gonna come crashing down on their swollen heads this Saturday!
We would have to totally implode defensively, and get completely away from what we’ve been doing all season…
Nope, ain’t gonna happen.
