#Karma

If there really is any justice in the universe, Auburn deserves to go down tomorrow just for this.

Do it for Aaron, college football gods.

***************************************************************************

UPDATE:  Momma Murray lets loose.

HYPOCRITE moment! I am the person who will post ❤️>H8 (hate), but I dislike Auburn immensely. It’s hard for a mom to forget the day she watched cheap, dirty, illegal shots taken on her son over and over again that amounted to a fractured sternum, 8 stitches under his chin, whip lash (so bad the Dr. said it was worse than patients who are in major car accidents), and lastly, a contusion to the leg that finally brought him down. As Aaron was squirming on the field in pain, surrounded by medical staff, the Auburn fans were on their feet cheering while Fairly strutted around like a peacock getting accolades and cheers from adults, students, parents and coaches. My distain for Auburn has not lessened, I’m still bitter!! So I’m a hypocrite, and like all the good hypocrites, I feel justified.

This game is when my hate for Auburn boiled over. Nick Fairley, Cam, Towel-Wavin’ Trooper Taylor, and Chiz overseeing it all in his bomber jacket.

The Cam cheating thing had broken that week, and the Auburn people were glowing with a sort of mobster pride. T-shirts everywhere said “Deny Everything, Admit Nothing, Demand Proof!”

UGA will never be able to imagine what it must be like to have refs covering for your on-field slime while the suits cover for your off-field slime.

Cam’s dad taking $180,000? We’ll just change a few rules to accommodate that. Fairley grinding his facemask into Aaron Murray’s throat and drawing blood? Nothing to see there.

A.J. Greene selling one of his jerseys for 1/5 of what the school gets for another one? Todd Gurley signing autographs for about a month’s rent? Yeah, there’s your line in the sand.

Before that season, and particularly that game, I felt like Auburn was someone we wanted to beat, but not someone I HATED (like Florida, Tech, Tennessee). There was a feeling of almost mutual respect there.
Afterwards, though, no love lost. I HATE Auburn with a burning passion. Since that season, they’ve only dug the hole deeper and shown what they really are: a worthless school, a worthless fanbase, a worthless team.
I hope the Earth opens up and swallows them up and removes them from all recorded history.

If anything like justice or karma existed in this world Auburn wouldn’t be fielding a football team tomorrow. Moreover the list of reasons why they “deserve” to lose would break the Internet.

They’re unredeemable trash. I don’t mean the fans btw. Some of them are good people. I mean the people that run shit down there. They are a repugnant group of “people.”

I know everyone has the team they HATE! more than any other. For me, it’s always been and always will be Auburn.

I hadn’t seen that in awhile, and I’m still amazed that the refs didn’t get control of that thug. There is no way they couldn’t have seen what Fairley was doing unless they weren’t doing their job as they were supposed to. It’s one thing to pursue.. another go for cheap shots. Pretty appalling that Auburn’s coaches didn’t do anything about it either… and you know they knew what he was doing. I remember Chizik saying after the game when asked about it. ‘That’s not what we do at Auburn University’. What a crock of shit. I lost all respect for him at that point. The very next year, his team did too and quit on him. Those refs should’ve lost their jobs after that, and Fairley should’ve been booted from CFB.

Agree; that’s one of two times in my life I’ve felt a player should have left the field in handcuffs. The other was Brandon Spikes, although he was man enough to own up and apologize.

The whole thing with Auburn that year… Stuff like this being ignored by refs until they couldn’t ignore it anymore… Cam and the phantom NCAA / SEC investigation that lasted over a bye week and was concluded in time for their next game or whatever that was… really had me thinking that CFB was rigged for the first time in my life. For no other reason than it was the only explanation for all the shit that went down at Auburn and clear their way for the MNC. Seemed like everyone was turning a blind eye to everything.

What really capped off the hate for auburn for me was Chizik and Newton going on about family and God being on their side. Then their fans with the family and all in signs while cheering for and laughing at players getting injured. Auburn has always tried to portray themselves as the classier program but they’re hypocrites. Yeah, I’m lumping them all together because it’s most of them in my experience.

You beat me to it. Junior Nosegay speared him while he was defenseless, celebrated, and then told the papers he’d really dreamed about doing it to Fred Gibson. Jordan-Hare cheered and celebrated the hit, too, but since the game was in hand, they showed how big and godly they were by pretending to pray for him while he was lying there, and then cheered him as he was being carried off, all with little giggles and secret low-fives implied. It was actually more sickening in a way than the dirty hit.

As my brother and I quietly left the stadium, they all shrieked “Go home, REDNECKS!” repeatedly at us.

The problem with Auburn fans is that they think the whole world is out to get them and they have a giant inferiority complex from being the “other” team.

But, what do you expect? Chizik. Malzahn. A disgrace to the Christian faith, if they claim to be Christians. Just a couple of cheating, lying, worthless morons. And this fan? I’ve never been so mad watching a game. The last time NF pulled his shit, I released invective that sent my young kids scurrying upstairs out of fear.

Yep, it’s still hard to watch. Fairly was way over the top — late hits, spearing Murray in the back with his helmet, driving him into the ground, the total bully. As I remember, late in the game, some of our OL tried to give him some payback and got flagged for it. I hope Smart showed those clips to the team. Sure fired me up.

What also infuriated me was just how clueless both Lundquist and Danielson were, as they kept referring to Fairley’s vicious hits as not intentional and/or accidental. I very rarely if ever yell or get upset during the game, but I was actually yelling at the TV just how clueless do you have to be to not call all those dirty hits for what they were – downright dirty, in which Fairley should have been ejected.

I refuse to watch that video, but I recall Fairley also digging into Murray’s facemask and gauging his eyes. Of course, that was ‘accidental’ as well.

As I recall, they were calling Fairley out.. you can hear it in that clip. I’m sure they erred on the side of caution, but they clearly expressed he was over the line.. gotta protect the SEC brand so don’t want to criticize the refs too much, and don’t want to assume the coaches on the Auburn side were turning a blind eye. Had to let the SEC front office handle it, which they did. Refs shut that crap down in their next game against Bama. Chizik and Fairley both should have had to sit for the Bama game.

I’m like most you on here. I always had a mutual respect for Auburn and it’s fans. I had most of my high schools friends go to Auburn, and I was likely headed there as well if I didn’t get into UGA. So for me, this game put them up there with Florida. I youtubed the game yesterday, and It still pisses me off what happened that day. In additional to all the crap Auburn pulled on the field, the CBS crew was turned into some kind of Auburn backer/apologist, especially Gary Danielson. The stuff he was spouting was pure garbage. “can’t stop Fairley’s motor” referring to his spearing Murray in the back, or “Fairley got blocked into Murray’s knee”. So much BS. Go Dawgs!

I’m no conspiracy theorist, but it’s hard not to acknowledge the apparent disdain shown to Georgia by the SEC referees during the latter part of Mark Richt’s tenure. I’m just not sure why. Hard to believe it came just from one guy (Penn Wagers) or for one incident of celebrating at the Georgia-Florida game.
Can anyone enlighten on what really was going on?

    Liked by 1 person

    • Just Chuck (The Other One)

Pure supposition on my part but, Mark tended not to go after officials unless the call was especially egregious. If one coach is coming after you and the other one isn’t, makes your life easier if you tend to call things for the coach who complains a lot. Not necessarily a conscious decision either. Have you noticed Saban gets a lot of calls?

Richt chewed out Wagers in 2013 after Wagers ruled that JHC had not, in fact, recovered a fumble, but that an AU player had recovered it with his butt. Call stood, Wagers flagged Richt, we lost. I’d push Wagers and Fairley down a flight of stairs in a second.

I agree with what has been written above about this game, Fairley, $cam Newton, Trooper Taylor, Chizic and Auburn fans. This one game changed the series from a generally good-natured rivalry to hate for Auburn in my mind. But I feel I need to add another name to the list of culprits–Mark Richt. This is the game where I basically lost respect for him. His QB is getting cheap shots after cheap shot from Fairley, the refs are doing nothing about it and all CMR did was stand on the sideline and whine. If I had been HC I would have turned loose every OL on Fairley until he was laying on the field as a bloody pulp or the War Chickens took Fairley out of the game to save him. Football can be a brutal sport but that is why there are rules–to protect the safety of the players. If the refs won’t enforce the rules you have to do it yourself sometimes. CMR wouldn’t. Shame on him. I’m glad he’s gone. I want a football coach and now we have one. When I want a preacher I go to church.

Please make sure you watch the video past the 1:30 mark. Ben Jones pounces on Fairley. 71 took him down, and the Ben jumps on him, and I don’t think he was exchanging pleasantries. Then wait a little longer to see Richt on the field yelling at the refs.

Jones did it on his own–CMR never told Jones to do anything. That came out after the game. What CMR was saying to the refs is that “this is what you get when you don’t enforce the rules.”

I have no desire to watch that game again because I have never been so angry watching a game before or after then. Were there three truly dirty plays? I know the late hit to the back which was flagged. Scrapping his facemask on Murray’s chin. Then the hit on the knee. Was there one more? Or more that were borderline? I do remember my anger peaked with this last hit. It was obviously intentional, and the refs nor the announcers were willing to call it that way. The line had been chippy with Fairley before this. The sad thing is, they couldn’t stop him. Maybe the retaliation should have escalated to this before the final cheap shot, I’ll give you that. I am no Richtophile, but think it is unfair to claim to know what he felt/did. He loved his players and they loved him. The preacher man sentiment is unfair also. Just because he can compose himself and not act like Boom on the sideline doesn’t mean he has no fire in his belly.

I too used to pull for Auburn some ( especially the Florida games when they played yearly ), and this was definitely the game that changed that. I don’t hate their fans… Ward seems like a decent one. I just cannot pull for Auburn anymore.

Exactly this (all the above), except it isn’t close for me with TN or Florida as the most hated. This is the program I would like to see banished from the earth…and it all started for me on this day in 2010. Before that, it was my favorite rivalry game. It wasn’t just the thug Fairly the Fairy, it was Troopa and all the coaches, the AU admin who didn’t take action, and then the AU fans whoi sat by and cheered/defended. On a higher level, it was the SEC who didn’t terminate the officials immediately afterwards, and the head of officials who also did nothing. Fairy boy should have been locked up after the game, or really, during it.

Ir was a sad day for CFB, and the day AU became the worst example of what this great game should never become. The only Auburn fan(s) I will ever respect would be some who vowed to never be affiliated with this trashy program again because of how this all went down. With that said, Aaron Murray is a warrior, Erk and Vince for Pat Dye ranks just ahead of the purchase of Manhattan from its natives in terms of one sided trades, Auburn can’t win with a QB they recruited and can only win with one who is a criminal, the entire institution unites around cheating, and I like driving in my truck, Auburn sucks. 33. I see a lot of the commentariat saying Auburn is/was a brotherly, friendly rivalry. I hate Auburn. Always have. Always will. I guess I’m not old enough to see Auburn as anything but Georgia and Alabama rejects that have to cheat academically and financially to be competitive. I remember the cheap shots. I remember the fans. I remember the hedges being destroyed. I remember Cam. I remember too many negative things about Auburn to want anything good to happen to them… ever.

I hate Tennessee. Their orange is awful, their stadium is garbage, and their turf is a disgrace to rec league football fields. However, I can respect the Vol Navy. I think that’s cool. I like that they unashamedly embrace their hillbilly roots. I can have empathy for them as fans because their athletic department is run by imbeciles. I can point and laugh at their misfortune, because that’s what rivalry is about, but my ill will against them is not a burning, fiery passion.

I hate Florida. They are delusional. They have an arrogance that is not befitting their station in life. They have twenty years of football history, and they act like they invented the game. They had a murderer on their team, and he wasn’t the worst of the criminals they shielded from prosecution. Every coach they hire is a dick. I can’t think of anything good to say about Florida, but I hate them in an impersonal way… like I hate the idea of Florida and everything that goes with it, but not necessarily the people that gleefully represent their shittiest qualities. The Florida fans I know are arrogant, shitty bastards, but they would be arrogant, shitty bastards if they weren’t Florida fans, so I don’t know. I think they just gravitate to where the arrogant, shitty bastards congregate, and that happened to be Florida at the time they joined college football fanhood.

But, Auburn. Man, do I hate Auburn in a super personal way. I don’t like anything about the place, the people, the “college,” their shackets, their eagle, their marching band, their trees, Toomer’s Corner, their advanced tractor-driving skills, their pig fornication, nothing. I hate Auburn. I hate everything about it. I would prefer they bulldoze the village and salt the earth. Like Florida, Auburn just seems to be the place where seedy types congregate. They are cheats, swindlers, liars. It is like the armpit of Georgia rubbed up against the asshole of Alabama, and BOOM, Auburn was conceived. There has to be a place where the kids who cannot get into Alabama or Georgia, yet can’t afford Ole Miss go, and that place is Auburn. Auburn Man is a Tennessee fan that thinks he is equal to an Alabama fan, and just comes off as a Florida fan.

Couldn’t qualify out of HS, so he went to jc in Mississippi, where he had to redshirt his first year there. Played seven games the next season, then goes to Auburn for one season. Wins the freaking Lombardi Award, which cheapens that trophy 🏆 forever, in my mind.

I am convinced that Fairley’s improvement from one season to the next has steroids written all over it. Also, coaching by Rocker helped a lot, too. But Fairley was only an average DT the year before then suddenly he became a first-rounder? No way that happens without illegal performance enhancing substances!! That “roid rage” thing might also explain much of his behavior.
