Now I know how Urban Meyer feels.

The one good thing about the game is that I don’t need to watch the replay.

It’s one thing to watch your #1 team lose, but an entirely different thing to watch them give up in the 2nd half. If we played more quarters, Abuurn could just score at will… That’s so frustrating.

That’s exactly what I was going to post. One thing to lose a game in which you play hard and just come up short. But to just play with such lack of discipline and fundamentals is the worst kind of loss to sit through. How do you play one way all year and then just shit the bed like that?

The Notre Dame game was mistake filled, but it was helped by Wimbush still being raw as a passer. This game had even more mistakes than that can. The stupid mistakes, and then just lying down and taking it.

… and yet along the sidelines as the result slipped away, I was impressed by the Vibe of CKS. He appeared to be “in the moment”, and in a good way. We will all see how it pans out.

So much this. Make no mistake: this was a mental breakdown. Kirby has come a long way to install the right mental toughness in this team, but we still have a long way to go.

We’re nothing more than front-runners. We got punched in the mouth & ran away to whimper like the yard dawgs we are. The only “fight” I saw was the undisciplined, mouthy type of fight.

I’m ok with this loss. Preferably not by 23 points but everything UGA wants is still in front of them. Know you can get your ass whipped, get better, and hope like hell we get another shot at those bastards in Atlanta.

Have no doubt we’ll play better in the SECCG, but I do doubt that our performance on the OL is something anomalous that can be fixed
in 3 weeks. They were simply pathetic with the frosh Andrew Thomas the only one who played better after the rough start. Ready to thank the ham and egger Lineman who have given their all and roll in the young guys in 2018.

Yeah, it’s hard to see how this gets fixed. I hate all that bullshit trickeration Malzahn runs. But we may have to resort to some of that.

I just don’t understand why we don’t have a decent screen game to keep those guys from crashing down every time.

This loss doesn’t kill us as long as we recover and don’t lose going into the SECCG. I’m hoping Auburn gets in since there’s no way they play as well as they did today. And I know we won’t play as badly.

Today’s game was all about the line of scrimmage. Auburn took over both sides, and that caused us to lose composure (including the play calling) as the game wore on. Auburn isn’t that much better than we are, though I thought/feared they could play a game like this. At least we know Notre Dame won’t jump us this week.

As bad of a faceplant as we have seen.

Thank god we held them to mainly field goals in the first half.

Kirby and Co. got outcoached a bit. Combine that with bonehead penalties and an O line that decided to take the night off, thats the result one would expect.

A bit? We were out coached in every conceivable aspect of the game. They even out adjusted us. I don’t see a single positive for us to take away from this game. Unless you count that when we decide to suck, we REALLY suck. Both lines got their asses kicked, Fromm played like a true freshman, special teams were not special and we got penalized pretty much every other play, including a leaping penalty.

How many turnovers did Fromm have in the face of severe pressure all night from a top defense? And considering the lack of protection and play calling? I saw at least 4 plays where the ball went right threw receivers hands.

Chaney’s got to have more tricks in the bag. Gus and Lindsey had plays to counter our blitz, we had none for them. Might have been a different game had Ridley caught the pass or Fromm had hit him in stride. We’ll bounce back.

I honestly don’t think he does. Pittman with him as a package deal is not really worth it.

What he did before the season is what he has and that’s good but more needed to be done. I love the smashmouth spread. But you need to do that and have creativity.

Chaney has been living off coaching Drew Brees decades ago. Something tells me that Brees would still have been pretty good without him. He knows that he has a o-line that’s getting killed and just keeps running Chubb up the middle. Doesn’t try to slow down the pass rush with screens or even help the running game with a simple toss sweep.

There is a difference between losing 1 game and losing to Auburn by the largest margin since the Goff era with supposedly better players. I still hope this season wasn’t simply a McElwain lite performance where we ran the table this far due to inferior opponents. (Notre Dame was crushed tonight in similar fashion). Remember with shark bait Jim was the next big thing? Chaney & Pittman laid a big one tonight. We were out coached on the line tonight with no adjustments. No answers. Similar to 2012UT.

Two years, and we can say Kevin Steele owns Chaney. Two offensive TDs in 4 quarters against Gus. Smart should be pissed with his OC and staff. This game looked and felt a lot like JAX last year. Another Chaney redo!
Granted Auburn owned both sides of the line of scrimmage. Their O line got up on the Lbs very quickly. There goes the DC’s post season award for an assistant. Mel had no answer for their running game. Johnson is way better than any back we have…he scorched the LOS
    Special teams were a disaster.
The guy who learned some painful lessons today was Fromm. Read quicker and get set up quicker. Not sure why Smart did not go with Eason in 3rd quarter. Think the passing game would have been better.
And next time inside the red zone trailing with just a few clicks on the ball, do not run and spike. PUT THE DAMN BALL UP IN TH END ZONE. YOUR RECEIVERS WERE THE ONLY PHYSICAL PLAYERS YOU HAD ALL DAY.

Auburn was a lot quicker and more physical than the Dawgs by a long way.
Hard to believe that since the UT game, this is the fourth road game in the last six. All SEC games. Six in a row.
    Take away from today.
East is no where near the West yet.
West has quicker, more physical teams.
Important for Dawgs to make a big statement against Kentucky. 7 wins in SEC before the championship game would look good.
I’d say Bama will have a very hard time beating Auburn this year.
They are a very solid team.

Getting curbstomped like Georgia did tonight and thinking about Herbie and him and his Big 1? cronies and talking heads laughing and saying I told you so yet again gets old.

We could possibly win out and win the SECCG and get left out of the playoff bc of how bad this team shit the bed. The Pac 12 and Big 1? will be lobbying like crazy to get back in and TV execs jack off when you mention ND. Hell. Even Herbie would be willing to once again forget about his “you have to win your conference to get in” like he did when it was two Big 1? teams crap and lobby for Bama.

I’m interested in seeing what the rankings are, and if it’s bad, like 8-9, to be honest I would say Georgia is as good as done CFB playoff wise. Even if the SECCG is a good solid win and honestly it’s possible because your worst usually doesn’t happen more than once.

Auburn whippped us, but it wasn’t straight up. We gifted 24 points between Walker “leap”, Mecole muffed punt, Ridley drop, and Rod FG miss. Throw in Sony’s very uncharacteristic PF penalty for good measure. I’m not saying those are the reasons we lost. Auburn deserved to win, and probably would have straight up. I’m just saying the final score could be largely attributable to an implosion on our part. Some of that stuff can be cleaned up.

I’m still on board. Let’s finish 11-1 and see where the chips fall. Hopefully I’ll get SECC tickets.

This game was the perfect example of not being ready for the big time. Bama may fuck up now and then but they know that every week they are getting every team’s best shot. The worst thing you can do is come out and give a rival that wants to beat your ass even if you were 0-9 let alone #1 the hope and the feeling that they can win.

The more success they have and the more you fuck up the faster that avalanche comes. You have to have real toughness to take a shot to the chin and shake it off. This team obviously continues to lack it.

And yeah. First drive for a td looked good. Obviously Chaney scripted it, Auburn made adjustments and Chaney never did.

They absolutely whipped our ass on the lines the whole game. I can’t really figure it out with our defensive line. It seemed like every run play of their took 8 years to develop and they would still gain 5 yards.

But I have to laugh at the clowns crying about the state of the program when we are 9-1, with the division clinched, with another top 5 class in tow (with 2019 looking even better), and they are bitching about this staff.

This was a terrible game. A 1-5% performance. But this is an outlier.

I’d not be worrying about Gus, Saban, ESPN, or what is said or written.
I think you had better focus on the play of Chaney’s offense against ND, USC, and Auburn. Look at those numbers.
Frosh QB, again. 1-1-1 against those three, two on the road.
Road wins in SEC are tough.
Say what you will, but this offense today was pitiful by any standard regardless of where you are. I was bad on every drive, even the two TDs.
Never could get to the edge. Everything is inside. Why? USC game begin to show issues.
Look how Auburn handled the blocking with their down line man and where they played their LBs. Chaney and Smart totally committed to running there come hell or high water. It was not going to work, period.
Should have come in prepared to throw a lot, and use Eason.
If there had been any offense today, the outcome could have been different score wise.
UF and Auburn. If you stop Chaney’s running game, you beat Georgia. That damn simple!
    Offense wins championships!!!!

Anyway…Jim Chaney coaches our QBs on pocket presence. Think about that. You can blame sacks on a lot but Eason last year and Fromm this year have about as bad pocket presence as you’ll see. I like how Herrien’s token carry was to the outside when we were clearly needing to pass every down. We’re down and this jerk is still calling plays like we’re up by 3 touchdowns.
I seriously fear our ability to develop QBs. I also want to know how involved Kirby is in offensive play calling because he seemed clueless about Chaney calling a fucking run play with seconds left and no timeouts. Chaney will hold this program back, imo.

All of the top teams this year have lost at least 1 game except Bama and Miami. And Bama was lucky to beat MSU tonight – the same team we beat earlier by 30. Hell, most years Bama loses at least 1 game and pre-season favorites like OSU have been embarrassed twice.

Again, if I would have told you back in March or August that UGA would go 11-1, would you honestly have started bitching and moaning about how we choked yet again in that one loss, instead of soaking in the fact that we won 11 games while utterly trucking everyone? Give me a break. I got all sorts of hell on here and elsewhere for daring to predict we’d go 11-1 in the regular season, as I was basically labeled a drug induced Pollyanna. I figured a loss somewhere but it being to the most corrupt program in the South now that Freeze is gone is galling. I’m listening to Herbie and whoever his other booth guy already talking about how ND losing and Georgia getting “humbled” and “blown out” really makes you have to reevaluate things. These assholes all have their agendas. If you think the Big 10 commissioner isn’t already on the phone getting Herbie and espn to push their narrative you didn’t witness his “you have to win your conference to get in” crap that he totally dropped when it was two big 10 teams.

Watching the likes of Trigga making a fool of himself on the sidelines and knowing that the first Barn WR to score was a lock for UGA, til the check cleared at midnight on signing day. Again, you stated you were rooting for Miami in part because it would embarrass ADGM (as he fired CMR/hired Smart). Of course, you obviously don’t have a modicum of insight into the the AD itself, as – as again it was the boosters who effectively hired Smart, not ADGM.

By the way, you also mentioned that a ‘personal experience’ with ADGM is involved in your rationale as well and why you despise him. In other words, because you had some sort of a personal issue with ADGM, as a result you want to see the UGA AD embarrassed, which, by extension, embarrasses UGA football. Talk about being selfish and uninformed at the same time. Nice going.

This was more than a loss; our flaws got exposed in several areas: 1. Fromm is limited as a QB and/or the staff clearly isn’t confident in his passing abilities. 2. Our OL, while improved, still has a ways to go in order to compete with the big boys. 3. Our DL got hammered by a rather average AU OL, and for whatever reason our D looks a step or two slower than it did earlier in the year.

Kirby said in the pregame that our D had tired legs and it was a concern. If that’s the case, we need to ease up on them big time in practice as they look worn down overall. No overcoming our line issues this year and our OL in particular will be much improved next year, with a top 5 OL in ’19.

For all of you who think the world ended tonight, if I told you in the preseason we’d go 11-1 and beat UF and UT by a combined 83-7, what would have been your reaction? Hell, I predicted we’d go 11-2 with a loss to Bama in the SECC and many of you called me an idiot for having such unrealistic expectations.

C’mon senator. Certainly something can be gained by watching a replay. Don’t you want to see offensive and defensive lineman being pushed around like the were on roller skates? Or an OC who cannot make a single adjustment when he keeps running his NFL caliber back straight into stacked lines over and over? Missed tackles that made a RB I’ve barely heard of look like a heisman contender? Third and three passes short of the sticks? Coach playing scared and playing for a missed FG before the half? Backbreaking moronic penalties? A team that basically ran one scripted series and scored and then apparently figured that was all they needed?

Honestly he’s not a household name to me. I listen to several national college football podcasts and read a lot of articles. No one outside the SEC ever talks about him. And pretty much any back could run well when our front was getting pushed back on every play and the LBs etc couldn’t keep contain to save their lives.

Hey, I hear ya and no arguments here on any of that – especially regarding how conservative we played even when 2+ scores behind. So much or being the hunter – more like a French solider right after the first sound of gunfire.

With that said, this game was not indicative of us or AU. If we played again next week at a neutral site or at Sanford, we’d have a great shot at winning.

Love the Dogs, but what would happen in a week to negate the tremendous advantage AU showed at the line of scrimmage? We absolutely could not block them. Fromm had no time at all to make reads, and our defense got no penetration. We rushed for 32 yards. They didn’t out-scheme us, they whipped us physically.

Yep, Auburn whipped our ass tonight, especially on both lines, but no way they play that well again, and I doubt we play that badly again. I’m hoping Auburn gets to the SECCG so we have a rematch. I’d like our chances there.

We need to look to Japan. Three large but nimble sumo wrestlers could be put at center and the guard spots. Then Chaney’s 1st and 10 handoff up the middle to Chubb on every series might work.

Guys, seriously? I can’t believe how much of this happy horse shit I’m reading about how it isnt that bad because we are 9-1 and we still have lots of games ahead and still can win the SEC, blah, blah, blah. I realize that is all technically true but guys,we didnt just lose. We got fucking destroyed. And it looked like Auburn did it with relative ease. This is the one thing I didnt wa to see. I knew it was possible that we might lose. But I honestly thought this total face plant bed shitting thing was behind us. Now Im conncerned that we haven’t changed as much as we thought. That maybe we are still that team that will just totally not show up. Like we have been for years. I realize 9-1 is pretty good in a vacuum. But after what you saw tonight, how can you really believe this horse shit about it not being that bad and we can still attain our goals? If we hadn’t gotten curb stomped I might feel that way. As it stands, I now have doubts about who this team is.

Please answer this with a simple yes or no answer: If Biff from Back to the Future part II told you back in August that: UGA would go 11-1 in the year ahead, all while outscoring UF and UT 83-7 combined, would be ranked #1 for a period while generating significant buzz about the program, all while trucking all SEC competition except for their lone road loss against a top 10 team…would you be happy?

If you answer anything other than a simple yes, you are either lying or have totally out of wack expectations.

If it had happened against Alabama in the SECC I would sound more like y’all do now. But that wasn’t Alabama that destroyed us and made us look like a bunch of clowns. It was Auburn. Do you really think Auburn is that much better than us? I don’t. That’s what makes me doubt this “we are ahead of schedule” stuff.

Since you enjoy going into hypothetical scenarios……If Doc came back from the future and told you we would fire a 10 Win average, win the east 6 out of 15 years to hire a coach that would give us our worst loss to Ole Miss in school history, the closest win over a D1AA team in at least 18+ years, losses to Vandy & Tech in the same year, and the worst loss to Auburn since the Goff era but still have a 10 Win average all while collecting staff from Derek Dooleys Demolition Days at UT……would you make that deal?

Not miserable at all. Enjoying life. Just stating fact. CJC was a mistake. Kirby may pan out but its too soon to say. CJC, on the other hand, was a detriment from the outset.

I don’t feel bad as I predicted Georgia not trying to develop a pass game through all those previous blowouts becoming an issue. Unless you’re Alabama or this is the 80s/90s with Oklahoma/Nebraska’s triple option, you’re simply not getting away with that.
Georgia wants to become that and is already working on it by redshirting and really working on young OL to develop them into beasts (trading off a worse OL now for a much better one in 2 years), but isn’t there. Fromm’s arm has proven to be fine in all honesty, but this game proves the coaches don’t trust him.

I know that Georgia will most likely beat Kentucky and Georgia Tech. It may get ugly for both of them. But then, since you don’t suddenly develop a pass game in a few weeks, even if Georgia cleans up the mistakes (I think it will happen) and plays a good, tough game, Georgia will likely lose by 10-14 points in the SECCG no matter who it is because of the issue I said above. I have no problem being run first, but it’s been going so far that it restricts development.

Kirby always has trouble with mobile QB’s. I’m afraid the Tech game has returned to a toss up as long as CKS is at the helm.

What the what? I wouldn’t consider Stidham mobile and every QB Georgia’s played this year that’s been mobile has been stopped. Plus we’re not talking about a good passer here.

I think it’s been more the mobile QBs that are good passers…which is still kinda an issue with Pruitt.

To be honest, it wasn’t that shocking to me.

All the intangibles were with Auburn. Unless you are Nick Saban or Bill Belichick, the tag of number 1 is an ridiculously heavy mental burden. Auburn was at home. Auburn was in the desperate position.

In my opinion, it would have been quite a feat to beat a team with comparable skill and perhaps a physical advantage coupled with all the intangibles.

Just learn from it. Get angry with yourself over it. Then take it out on the next chumps you play.

As we said in the Army, shit happens. It ain’t the first time and it won’t be the last. Improvement has been shown this year and I will wait to see how the season plays. The OL is at least another year away. Smart has had to build it from practically the ground up. It is still a work in progress. As an aside, it looks like the stimulation of South Beach has rejuvenated Richt. Of course there are no Vampires on South Beach.

The ND-Miami game exposed Georgia too. Georgia’s signature win was over ND. Now we know that ND isn’t really that good. So what can we take away from yesterday? First, let’s all get the stars out of our eyes. This Georgia team is good, maybe even very good, but not great. It has flaws that will take time to fix. But it has also won the SEC East already and may still end the regular season with only one loss. 11-1 ain’t too shabby. We then have the SECCG and if we win we are the champs of our conference. We would also get in the playoff if we win. If we don’t win we still get in an excellent bowl against a quality opponent. One loss, even a bad loss, does not ruin the season.

All true. But first, how can you just automatically add these next two games to the win column? Kentucky probably will be. But Tech? Maybe but I’m not so sure after last night. Champions of our conference? Possible but unlikely. I would love to be wrong about that. Guys it’s not that we lost. I knew that was possible. It was the way we lost. Just getting owned by a team that shouldn’t have been able to do that.

All the stories have been written about how Georgia got physically whipped at the line of scrimmage, how we couldn’t tackle, how we laid down early in the 3rd Qtr. However, nobody is talking about Auburn’s classless behavior. During a referee play review and over 13 minutes to go in the game, the entire Auburn football team felt the need to simultaneously break out in a hip-hop dance routine. If that wasn’t pathetic enough, Gus Malzahn decides to throw the ball with the score 40-17 and 40 only ticks left on the clock. His piece of shit team never did take a knee. That ass wipe school from the Plains of Alabama, who can’t decide on a name, thought it would be ok to run the ball two more times to end the game. What a Nick Fairly classless piece of shit thing to do.

I hope Kirby Smart took note of this lack of sportsmanship and shows it to our players, so they have something to get motivated by this week. I hope Bama kicks the ever loving shit out of Auburn. Fuck Auburn!

The dancing was them giving back to us what we gave them in the Blackout game, Kirby not only said “Humility is a week away” after the SCar game but has bee pointing out the team “going through the motions” past two weeks as well. I didn’t expect us to go undefeated at the beginning of the season and seen a possible loss to Last Chance U, but not a blowout. Season isn’t over at all, but I was hoping Kirby had this team beyond the blown out type.

He also had the offense go into a Bama like shell, the “play for field position” style after the first drive. He thought this was gonna be a wear you down with runs up the middle and punt kind of game. I was waiting for a HB screen with all the pressure that was coming at Fromm, but poor play calling, coaching, blocking and catching to go along with the penalties (and lack of PI calls for us)…Oh well, keep chopping wood and win these next three games. GO DAWGS!

Pretty dumb, imo, it was ten years ago and involved not a single player or coach. How does that “get back” at someone? If anything it brings back memories of their humiliating loss, which I would want to be forgotten.

Of bigger relevance was Gussie challenging a first down spot with a 30 point lead, passing when they were in the midst of running the clock out, and then saying to a fan/staffer “we really kicked the dog crap out of them” after the game. Yeah, we get it Gussie, act like you have been there before. He is really a good fit at that low class organization.

Busta you did a much better job of saying what I have been trying to say. Especially in that first paragraph. I thought we were past the bed shitting. I don’t care about these excuses about a “buzz saw” and being ahead of schedule etc. I knew going undefeated was unlikely. But I didn’t think we were still THAT team. But not many people seem to mind. “Oh well it’s only one loss.”. Not all losses are equal. Just like wins.
