Kirby embraces Hate Week.

I’ve said for a long time that if you’re a Georgia coach who doesn’t beat Georgia Tech consistently, you’re not long for Athens.  Well, Mrs. Smart didn’t raise no dummy.

Think he wants this one?

Oh yeah, and then there’s this.

Observation or opportunity?  You decide.

  1. In 2009, Richt dedicated practice time each week to Tech. Not the worst idea I’ve ever heard.

We’re playing for CFP hopes this week (as last week). I wonder if that helps light a fire under everyone and keep them focused or if they’d be focused anyway.

I think the game will have something of a 42-14 flavor. Certainly shouldn’t be any closer than that if we’re taking care of business.

Kirby hates those guys like any true Dawg does. We’ll be ready with the beat down.

If every team gt played cut them on every play PJ would have to build his own hospital to handle the injuries. I hate the bastards.

I got to think last year was a bit of a wake up call. Glad to see we’re doing regular prep work. Also can’t wait for the day GT fires PJ and we can go back to practicing normal defense.

What I’ve never understood is why we don’t punish the QB On every single play since it’s legal.

In defending the triple option job one it to hit the QB. On. Every. Play.

I’ve asked this for years with any QB running the option. In HS they coach you on how to fall when you make the pitch because you know you’re getting leveled – but in college the defender always pulls up and chases the runner.

Somebody has to know why the QB doesn’t get plowed after making the pitch. Is it for fear of a personal foul? I don’t get it.

I don’t know. When the other team ran the option I was coached to hit the QB on every play. Personally I think not hitting the QB even after he has pitched it is a mistake. A lot of times the QB fakes the pitch, the defender goes after the pitch man and the QB cuts inside for a substantial gain. Hit the QB!! Then trust your teammates to take care of the pitch man.

When we’re on O, we should have the FB or TE hit their QB on the sidelines if the play goes near their bench 🙂

Why do I fear that since Georgia doesn’t cut block on a regular basis that this would result in a bunch of penalties for the Dogs OL?

    • It’s not the cuts on the LOS that are such chickenshit. Line play isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s the cuts out on the perimeter on guys looking at the ballcarrier that are so dangerous.
