Damn, Natrez. Just damn.
**********************************************************************
UPDATE: Natrez was part of a two-fer.
Linebacker Natrez Patrick was one of two Georgia players arrested early late Saturday night on misdemeanor marijuana charges. Reserve receiver Jayson Stanley was arrested for DUI, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and speeding. It’s Patrick’s third drug-related arrest, which could lead to his dismissal from the team.
I don’t even know what to say. FFS Natrez.

Unreal. Hopefully it’s all bullshit and he gets off.

When I saw him celebrating after the game, I said out loud “leave the weed alone until February.” Not saying that’s what it is at this point, but it wouldn’t be surprising.

This is a big problem. I don’t know if he will be able to stick on the team for much longer at this rate and that’s really bad because next year we need him to step up in the middle after losing so many guys.

If this is weed related then he’s off the team. He’s already had two drug related suspensions. It’s sad to see the wasted talent.

Looks like Kirby may have to cut bait with this one. I hope Natrez can get his self together.

Damn, son. Find another vice.

I’m doing a double-facepalm on this one. One, for Natrez allegedly violating a known team/school/state rule/law, again. The other, for the stupid law still being on the damned books. Just legalize it and tax it already.

That’s gonna hurt, especially against OU. I would definitely bench him for the first series.

Jeez, why can’t he do it without getting arrested? That kind of stupidity should be punished.

This could shake out to be that Patrick is guilty of misdemeanor ‘Riding with Idiots’, and gets to stay on scholly. When the officers get a two-fer like that, it’s usually because somebody had the weed, but, it “didn’t belong” to anybody in the car…

Plenty of people smoke a lot of pot; Not that many get arrested three times for having it in the car.

Apparently no one on this blog appreciates the fact that “ridin dirty” is an adrenaline producing recreational activity ,not unlike sky-diving and rock climbing. It is very possible that ,”Thatguy” above is correct. If no one claims the pot they all get charged. If he is innocent I hope he has the insight to request a drug test from the school.. If its not his car and the pot is not physically on him and he produces a clean screen the prosecutor has nothing. On a day like today we can always hope ,right?

I have heard it said that Stanley was the driver and the owner of the pot and nothing was on Natrez. If that’s true, he should walk, assuming Stanley says it is true.

I think what you outlined is exactly the right way to handle it if he is not guilty.

I miss the good ole days when the cops would let you go with a warning of “don’t do it again”. Hate all the inflexibility. Shit, I can think of numerous run ins I’ve had where my ass would be cuffed if it happened today.

He’s gone. The biggest opportunity in decades for this program and this guy let’s his teammates and coaches down….again. He’s selfish and, 3 strikes and you’re out or not, I think Coach Smart makes an example of him.
I don’t have a problem with the guy smoking weed but don’t do it right after you just got busted and right before the playoffs?? This really sucks all around because he’s hurt the program for this important stretch and then next season. He’s needed and he basically replied with a big ole F you. Smh
I think Kirby would boot him if this were only his 2nd time getting caught. Smart is so big in cohesion and TEAM. He talks about the seniors who can back to be the building blocks for this program. Well…Patrick have a big F you to them, too. If Kirby is who we think he is and who he portrays…Patrick is gone. Damnit!

Pretty simple game plan- drug test him immediately. If it comes back clean- he’s still playing. If not, he’s gone from the team. Not rocket science.
