Welcome back, big fella.

Trent Thompson is making some convincing sounds that he intends to return to Athens next season.  I’m down with that.  Here’s hoping he has an injury-free 2018 season and tears the SEC up next season.

All about getting draft status up as high as possible. Love it.

For selfish reasons I would like for Roquan to stay, but I don’t see how he can improve his status any more than he has this season. Either way, I am happy for him.

I think the experiences of Chubb, Sony, Davin and Lorenzo may have been a source of encouragement. Good Luck Trent!

Unfortunately for us, but fortunately for Roquan, it looks like he is already a first rounder, so staying for him makes no sense at all. Trent seems like he can greatly improve his stock if he has an injury free year and shows that spark he had last year before his illness and injuries. Glad to see the guys are not motivated to get out on the first bus out of town at least. Senior leaders will be needed next year especially on D. Losing a lot of good leaders.

If he’s returning it’s great news. That’ll be a tough, veteran DL with Trent, Rochester, Clark, Ledbetter, Marshall, et. al. Match that with a monster OL, and 2018 has the makings of, dare I say, an even better team.

On a player by player basis it could be more talented. They’d be hard pressed to outperform this team, though, especially if they go win it all next month.

A huge benefit of all of the blowouts is that the guys who are going to need to step up got to play quite a bit and showed improvement over the course of the season. Roquan is irreplaceable. Wims might be, too. And while the running backs will be roughly as talented, they aren’t going to be seniors with the kind of experience Chubb and Michel brought to the table. It’ll be interesting to see how it all comes together next year.

I think our secondary next year is going to surprise the hell out of people. I love what Davis, Parrish and especially Dom have brought to the table but I think we have more talented guys already on the roster.

Obviously Roquan is the spot that will be the hardest to fill. But maybe Monty is the next CJ Mosley (replaced Hightower, etc).

And Chubb and Michel are damn near impossible to replace.

If Roquan were to come back for his senior season, the UGA Sports Information folks and Coach Smart would owe it to him to mount a SERIOUS campaign to have him named as the first truly defensive player to win the Heisman! It might work if they start next summer…..

I don’t think he really needs more tape, the concept of one more year to, ahem, mature I think could really help his draft status.

Trent played injured most of this year. If he has a great senior year that would likely push him to first round draft pick status. He’s making the right decision for himself and for Georgia by coming back next season.

  11. Other than OL and DL this will be a whole new team next year. It’s both scary and exciting. The LOS isn’t a bad place to have veteran leadership…as long as there is a little talent.

Smart move by Thompson. If he has a healthy productive season his draft stock will rise significantly.

He must return if he goes into the draft he is a 3-4 rounder off of this years performance!
