It’s early signing day and nothing else matters.

Hey, I’m not kidding myself. I realize nobody’s gonna pay attention to anything I post today.  The least I can do is give you a link to Marc Weiszer’s early signing day post.

Knock yourselves out and let me know when you’re done.

Worked out an extension because of this. They will get screwed for that.

  3. Nothing at all shady about an average program on probation stealing a 4 star WR from the SEC champ on signing day.

Is Freeze still working with them undercover?

Actually it isn’t…he was processed, or Billy Bob’d as some would say.

He may well have been Billy Bob’d because of a so-so senior season but Ole Miss? Really? They are giving players a chance to escape from Oxford for free and a 4 star picks them above all the other programs? Unless there is a connection to Ole Miss no one has mentioned, that seems odd to have Ole Miss as your 1st alternative. Added to that, Matt Corral, a 5 star QB picks Ole Miss as well? All the craziness from Freeze may not have left Oxford. Doesn’t bother me, they aren’t on UGA’s schedule anytime soon, but it does prove that recruiting is a strange business every year.

It’s the timing on two of these headed for OM. Why be committed to one team and pick another on this day? If it is just a late decision, then something ain’t right. If it was earlier, why wouldn’t he go out on the market again and try for better luck than OM ? That those two questions are suspect, then indeed, something ain’t right.

I get the WR going elsewhere when the Bush visit ended so well, but wouldn’t you wait until he signs? I’ll let the former OM rivals coach speak for himself to the QB issue

I understand a WR having concerns after watching our offense this year. We are run heavy. But, I’m not convinced this will be our ID every year forever. I believe Kirby is the kind of coach that plays to the strengths of the team. I’m sure we will always recruit and work to have a strong run game but in those years we can throw it better, I believe we will do what it take to move the ball and win.

      • If the scuttlebutt is accurate, that’s not the issue in this case. Apparently, Georgia’s moved on to that wide receiver from Texas who took his official last weekend.

Correct. 6-5 Tommy Bush. Yet Ole Miss fans and several writers are gushing about their staff out recruiting Smart and co. Utterly delusional.

Don’t shed any tears about losing the 5-10, 160 lb. Moore. We need a big, physical replacement for Wims. Like 3rdandG says, the 6-5 Bush fits that need.

Wait, the senator gets a little testy when his words aren’t the focus of attention for a day? Or are you just pretending to be a little miffed that the thunder rolls somewhere else today?

Nah, it’s fawning over a bunch of 17 year old kids and I get it.

Yeah, kind of in the same vein as bluto in this posting. He says “anything I post today will be ignored” followed by a bunch of other posts.

I was making fun of it but I also understand the “wake me up when it’s over” part of recruiting. When a program ranks number one it’s almost as if it doesn’t need to win any games, everything is awesome so never mind the actual football that needs to happen 1 or 2 years from now.

This will easily be the single greatest recruiting day in UGA history.

What do we think the much-rumored “surprise” is today? I thought it might be Parsons, but he hitched his wagon to James Franklin instead of Kirby. Questionable judgement, but JF deserves some credit for keeping kids at home.

So now, who? Mays or Cox? Would either be a huge surprise? I’m not much of a recruitnik so I’d appreciate info. Thx.

Is anyone else making the connection with tall WRs and TEs gearing up for a helluva passing game? New QB who can throw and run……..and all those road graders making for two O-lines that can move obstructions that are plugging holes that RBs want to run through.

There is an up-tick at every position almost and including STs. My sweaty palms are attracting the wife’s attention who suspicions I’m on the “Old Farts and Young Women ” porno site.

  10. This class is shaping up to be the monster that many have been predicting. We need an elite DT and WR, but that’s really the only hole I see. This has been fun to watch.

Question: Does Wyatt count against last year’s numbers since he is enrolled and practicing with the team?

It’s a little wonky… I’m not 100% certain but another poster elsewhere confirmed my suspicions. If two people believe it on the internet, it must be true, right? Anyways, here is how I put it out there:
Originally, when Wyatt was taken in 2017, David Marvin was a blueshirt for the 2018 class – this means that while he took a scholarship under the 85 in 2017, he was an “initial counter” in the 2018 class (which would have capped us at 24 this year). Once Wyatt’s admission was delayed and ultimately had to enroll in Juco, it opened up one slot back in the 2017 class which Marvin filled. Functionally, it works out the same, but the nuts and bolts are a little different. Marvin no longer penalizes the 2018 class, Wyatt does count towards 2018, but should still be able to sign 25 recruits in the 2018 class including Wyatt. Clear as mud?
