Who needs a #1 football recruiting class when you have the #1 Industrial AND #1 Biomedical Engineering programs… đ

The question nobody seems to answer when they claim to be Number 1 is Based on What? Maybe they’re number 1 based on the number of students who fail calculus. Maybe it’s the crime rate on their campus. Could be their claim to fame is proximity to the Varsity. My best guess is they’re number 1 in the general lack of social skills in their students.

Yeah, I replied to him last night. Told him to get them to engineer some 1st downs next year.

Guess if it means nothing them, why do they even know what the ratings are?

Lol, yeah, because the juxtaposition of industrial engineering and football is such a commonly debated topic.

They’re also smarting from the curb-stomping received from our basketball team a few days ago.

Tech doesnât have to be bad at football. They just choose to be. Iâm genuinely wondering why they donât dissolve the program. If they want to view themselves as MIT, thatâs fine. MIT doesnât play football.

But yet their football coach gets paid more than their professors. As long as you get paid, who cares how good you are, just ask Paul Johnson.

I keep wondering if having Tech as a complete non-factor in in-state recruiting is worth having to deal with the triple option once per year.
Ideally, they’d bring back Bill Lewis as AD/coach, a la Phil Fulmer.

Maybe it’s time to begin playing Georgia State as the in state rival. To Hell with Tech.

I don’t see the Dawgs ever suiting up at the old Turner Field stadium but it might be nicer than the one at Mark Richt Field.

Beating tech never gets old. Near guaranteed Power 5 win each year.
Once we win 9 in a row, then we can talk about dumping them.

The Paul Johnson Wears a Sombrero in El Paso image you are about to see is a product of its time. It may depict some of the ethnic and racial prejudices that are commonplace in American society. This depiction was false then and is still false today. While the following does not represent our view of society, this image is being presented as it was originally created, because to do otherwise would be the same as to claim that neither the hat nor Paul Johnson ever existed.

Who needs football a stadium when the space could be better used to re-enact scenes from Lord of the Rings?

Actually I like Lord of the Rings…always a family trip to the show during Christmas….been a tradition for years . Saw Avatar at the IMAX. Kids are grown and they are here with future brides this season. We are going to the University Cinemas to see The Last Jedi in GTX Extreme ( whatever that means….but suppose to be cool). Anyway, kinda cool that they still wanna do it at this place in time. Soon they too will have their own kids.
Circle of Life…its been a wild ride seems it went by too fast. GO Dawgs!

This academic superiority complex Yechies have is a little misconstrued and over-rated. Just down the page on this blog is an entry about the academic success of our recruits and about the use of our business school’s reputation as a recruiting tool. I am quite proud of the education I received at UGA, and UGA has proven that you can be good at both academics and athletics. So, I do not know why Yech is bragging about being one-dimensional. Oh yeah – I guess one-dimensional is just Yech’s thing.

Not just the business school. Last I checked Yech doesn’t have an internationally recognized award(The Peabody) awarded by them.

I wonder how much time Paul Johnson has left. For now they can sneak up on you due to the triple option but they are in for epic swirlies when they go back to playing conventional football. Unless they get Monken or someone from one of the military academies, they will have to do a full rebuild job while UGA is in the middle of what is shaping up to be a dominating run. Techâs irrelevance will be unprecedented.

Honestly, Tech is so irrelevant I’d prefer to 86 them off our schedule. I’d love to replace them with a PAC-12, Big 10 or Big 12 game. We need to go national. Sure Tech is an in state traditional rivalry, but they do nothing to advance our program.

Tech is a great engineering school but will NEVER be a better school than UGA. The world needs teachers, farmers, biologists, lawyers, journalists (well, maybe not), and other careers not offered by the institute.

And Roof is gone. Did Tech recruit under false pretenses? Everybody does but if so that proves they want to be a football school.

Georgia Tech is NOT rated #1 in either of those academic programs–that’s total BS. They are living a lie and have been for generations. Georgia Tech is a second rate engineering school and the Tech student body and administration can’t/won’t admit the truth even to thenselves.

Not that this has anything to do with football, but some impressive schools on that list.

Still nothing to do with Tech, but some of the schools on the list have some really small numbers of students in undergrad work. Rice, Duke, Northwestern, Stanford must have one hell of a lot of money(and they do) pouring in to the schools. Hell some high schools are bigger than Rice.
