“… and no Georgia Tech season is complete without the head coach griping about his defense.”

Shorter Mark Bradley:  Paul Johnson cannot fail; he can only be failed by his defensive coordinators.

As someone employed at NC State, I’m a bit perplexed by their hire of Roof as co-DC. I wonder what Huxtable thinks about it.

Then again, as I’ve seen several posters mention on here before, how good can you expect Tech’s defense to ever be when they practice against Tech’s offense? Does anyone know how they’ve handled that?

I agree, this strikes me as a huge issue. And another one is that serious pro prospects really aren’t going to develop much by practicing against Tech’s offense, and surely that’s what’s sold on the recruiting trail.

Bottom line is that asinine offense is itself the biggest limit to their success in a ton of ways.

      • I’ve been saying this for years now. The talent deficit is now getting so wide between UGA and tech that if Kirby plays his cards right, he has a chance to drive a stake through the heart of the Drought.

Yep. Though I’d wager a free hotdog and a Coke that if the streak hits 8 in a row, they look for excuses to back out before we can break the tie for all-time longest win streak.

Instead of changing defensive coordinators, the Genius should try recruiting Georgia four star athletes. I get it that Tech’s goofy offense goes after certain type players but there is no reason that Tech can’t recruit major defensive athletes. Recruit better and Tech will have better chances of coaching them up.

So called UGA fans on there in the comments are mostly an embarrassment…

Bradley should look up the definition of ‘high water mark’. He either doesn’t understand what it means or uses it with such cognitive dissonance that he probably needs to see a shrink.

No doubt fishfry will have his pick of top DCs to replace Roof.

No joke. A distant relative, who is a big Navy fan, told me he thought Paul Johnson is one of the greatest coaches in the game. My jaw almost hit the floor.

    • He’s enough of a contrarian that it’s trendy to praise him as one of the best coaches in the game instead of the obvious: an insecure, miserable asshole that runs a unique system that has marginal returns the more people see it.

Forget about the trade schools defense, that will never get fixed. I’m concerned that our potential for football dynasty has broken the will of the fine denizens of stingtalk !! They’re locked down and I really miss reading about their deranged butthurt!

Glad I’m not the only one. I’ve looked on The Hive and one other one, but it’s just not the same. Nothing can top the puerile circle jerk that is Stingtalk.

    • Those losers just don’t want the Senator to copy some of their greatest hits into a post so we can laugh at them. It’s amazing how quickly most of their “fans” crawled back under the rocks they emerged from after we took them to the woodshed.
