Savor the moment.

Great reminder from Seth Emerson about how special this season has been.

The Georgia football team plays a fairly important game on Monday. Win or lose, though, it’s already been an amazing season. From the play on the field to the support off of it, the experience as a whole has been remarkable:

  • Trips to Notre Dame ― where Georgia had never visited ― and the Rose Bowl ― where Georgia hadn’t played since World War II ― in the same season. Not to mention, victories in both games.
  • The first SEC championship in 12 years.
  • The first chance to win a national championship since 1983.

Throw in an epic beatdown of Florida en route to a sweep of the SEC East and you’ve got all the elements of a magical season.

I’ve spent more money on Georgia football this season than I can ever remember — by a wide margin — and it’s been worth every penny and then some.

Wandering in the wilderness for decades makes that first step into the promised land that much more incredible.  Enjoy this very special ride, folks.  We’ll never pass that way again.

Senator I remember you posting some time either late in 2015 season or right after it that UGA football had not been any fun since some time early in the 2013 season. I was there for those South Carolina and LSU games that year and I agreed. It wasn’t fun anymore. And among other things we wanted that back. Boy is it ever back.

  2. Think about all those road games and great venues Fromm and the returning team have experienced this season, and what that means moving forward….

  3. I’m sick as a Dawg from the week in LA. I sold one and put the other up for too much money. I don’t think it will sell but I’m in a win-win. They backed off the rain/sleet forecast so that helps but I wish I could find a bus or something from Athens to the game.

    Yes, worth every penny.

I still have a hard time believing that I got to see the Dawgs in America’s two most iconic stadiums in one season, and saw two incredible wins. Worth every penny, indeed.

Not sure “pennies” have anything to do with this discussion. But five figure expenses seem a bargain at this point, even the young folks may not ever see a season more exciting than this one…even if we win a few more championships in the next 10 years.

2nd all the above emotions. What an absolutely great year for UGA football, and a win Monday would make it the best year ever.

I am sorry I didn’t spring for ND and Rose Bowl but the savings made me comfortable in buying tickets for the Championship. My family of 4 will be in row 1. I have LSU tickets for October.

1 correction UGA played in the 2012 National Championship game 😉

No matter what happens, they can’t take away what happened in that Rose Bowl. Those of us who were there will never forget.
