Now can I make fun of him?

Then again, maybe it’s just Trump’s genius way of getting traffic out of downtown Atlanta.

By 1/1/80, Carter has lost his bid for a second term to Reagan, but did attend the title game in Nola. He was governor of GA pre-presidency, so it made sense. I don’t recall if the Bush(s), Clinton, or Obama attended the title games, but they’ve become such big events now, not a super bowl but bigger than at any time in the history of CFB, so I can see a sitting President attending the game.

Sure, I’ve heard of it. I hadn’t heard they decided to move the college football national championship game to a hangar at Dobbins.

Actually, it is Dobbins Air Reserve Base. Seriously, this is what WE, are talking about tonight?

            Very true. I declined.

I got a call from a really famous guy. You’d all know him. I know the best people. He tells me he wants me to sit with the president because the president hates losers and because I have the best words and I’ve said a lot of things, he wanted me there.

I said I’ll do it but I’ve gotta be named ambassador to Tahiti. He came back with Luxembourg. I said no. Too cold.

So we’ll see. If it goes through I’m walking right up and grabbing him by the pussy. And I’ll get away with it too.

To be fair no one from south of Macon, north of Gainesville, East of Athens or west of the Alabama State line really knows the geography of towns and suburbs of Atlanta, it’s all just “Atlanta”.

But for the leader of the free world or his handlers to try and fail so hard to call out a specific town in the metrocity when the correct answer is but a google search away is embarrassing.

That said, it certainly isn’t the first geographical mistake by a recent President Of The United States.

My headache-saving advice for Georgia fans is ‘don’t take I-75 south to the game’.

Typically, they stop traffic for a presidential motorcade.

For those that went to ND and LA, I have a question. Were people trying to unload tickets right before game time at or around the stadium? I’m just wondering if I went down and milled around if I could somehow come upon a ticket. Risky and unlikely, but still curious.

There were LOTS of tickets for sale outside the rose bowl. No idea what they were asking but the scalpers were buying and selling about an hour and a half before KO.

Lots of tickets on the streets of South Bend and Pasadena, but I have no idea what the asking price was.

    • Tickets are electronic from what I understand. I assume you’ll have to pay someone and have them transfer you the ticket on the street.

Folks were paying about $50 per ticket in the parking lot of the Rose Bowl, but consider that these people were by and large locals who just wanted to see any Rose Bowl. Anyone who bothered to make the 2,300+ mile trek all the way from Georgia or even the 1300+ miler from Oklahoma already had tickets.

You wouldn’t catch Barack at a NCG without his teleprompter, but then again you wouldn’t catch Barack at a NCG at all. Not his crowd. Too many Southerners clinging to their guns, bibles, beer, and football. You know, the stuff we love except when we’re trying to impress others with how cultured we are. Nothing new under the sun here.

    An anecdotal story
My father-in-law drove a Pabst beer truck for years. He told me he used to make 2 loads to Statesboro/Georgia Southern every day. Johnny Russell’s song Red Necks, White Sox and Blue Ribbon beer became a hit. In two weeks he was making one load a WEEK so let’s all do our best to “make like we are.”

As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

Good lord. You know what else Barack didn’t do? Flippantly threaten nuclear war to prove his “button was bigger.”

Seriously, it’s comments like this that are why people think southerners are so ridiculous. You’d cling to your religion and guns right into a nuclear holocaust.

The fact that somehow a total piece of shit New York shiester is supposed to represent Southern value is beyond me.

P.S. you don’t have a monopoly on defining being southern. I was born and have lived in the south all my life, went to UGA and love football, don’t own a gun, and I’m a liberal buddhist.

And not old enough to have experienced the country’s racial turmoil, expressly in the South, in the late 40s, the 50s or even the 60s and he certainly isn’t going to go and read about it. The only thing he remembers is Trump’s quote to his butler that they should hang Obama from the South Portico of the WH while Obama was in office.

The Klan burned a cross in our yard when I was 4…….., but I still remember it, and how I waited on the fire truck which never came. Fire trucks are a lot more interesting than burning crosses to a 4 year old. Annnnnnneee how, nothing new under the sun.

So when the daily briefing says they are going to Marietta and that’s also where they depart and those things are indeed true it’s funny? I read the WHOLE thing earlier and obviously they are looking at departure/arrival. They also didn’t mention Mercedes Stadium….what buffoons! Just understand, if you want to make fun of someone and you don’t like them it’s easy to make fun. Personally, it looks like a normal arrival/departure schedule. But what do I know….

    • “In Marietta, the President will attend the NCAA National Championship game.”

Aside from the facts that (1) the game is in Atlanta and (2) the NCAA isn’t involved, that’s spot on.

      So, hells yeah, it’s funny.

Must be tough to have someone you love mocked. So much easier when it’s Trump doing the mocking, right?

      Like

      • Personally, I think it was deliberate that mention Marietta instead of Atlanta. Trump doesn’t like Atlanta. In fact he tweeted

“Congressman John Lewis should spend more time on fixing and helping his district, which is in horrible shape and falling apart (not to……mention crime infested) rather than falsely complaining about the election results. All talk, talk, talk – no action or results. Sad!”

Mercedes Benz sits smack dab in the middle of district that is falling apart. In his petty mind and the petty mind of those in his administration, it is a loss if they mention him visiting Atlanta because if Trump is visiting the beautiful new arena in the middle of Atlanta it diminishes his earlier statements about the city.

Not upset. But the guys who use this as an opportunity to bash everybody….yeah, I don’t get that. I understand…..Obama could have given me a $100 bill and I would have complained. My point…why today? I read all your stuff….I enjoy it. Agree…not agree…whatever, But I dropped my Dawgpost sub because I need a place for (Dawg stuff) that I want to be free from the reality of the world. Football is not reality. It effects my mood, yeah, but not the reality of $$$, and family and life. So I do look for places where fans can be fans. Laugh at saban or Tenn or Tech (that’s easy). Tomorrow either we will be happy or sad or pissed or mad. But I still gotta earn a living. The Dawgs don’t pay me to love them. So there it is….that’s why I felt the need to post. So what do we call fellow dawg fans now……

If you think you’re going to guilt me into posting only what you want to see, it’s not gonna work.

As for why today — actually, yesterday — it was an amused reaction to an announcement riddled with mistakes. Had it been announced a week ago in the same fashion, you would have seen the same post from me then. So if you’ve got a problem with your current mood being harshed, perhaps you should blame the POTUS, not me.
