I wish Bama would hire Steve Sarkisian as OC.

It tells you a lot about Kirby that he outlasted most Saban coordinators by eons in coaching time.

Matters less who the coordinators are when the striped shirts are included in the package…

My dad told me in the early 80s you have to beat the refs to win a game against bama. He’s still right.

Been that way forever.

Further proof that what Bowden said all those years ago is still true. It’s more about the Jimmies and Joes than the Xs and Os.

That’s sorta true but believe me, a bad Xs and Os coach can screw up even the best jimmys and joes. Ray Goff out-recruited Spurrier at first. That changed after Ray lost several games to him.

Just a question, I know it’s not going to happen, but does Saban have the swag to hire Art Briles? He can do almost anything he wants at Bama and he is questioned very little by the media so if he felt inclined to hire Briles could he get away with it?

Possibly but Briles doesn’t run the offense Saban wants. Mike Shula on the other hand would be fun to see come back to T town

Sooner or later( I think sooner) this coaching turnover is gonna catch up with the Tide.

Saban’s got a lot of viable options for the OC opening — reportedly, the ND OC is the leading candidate, but Canada is out there. He could promote Locksley from within. Or Saban could dip into his past and bring McElwain back.
DC is the more interesting question, but it’s not like Saban’s gonna be hands off there, regardless.
He’s already made a great hire for special teams coordinator.

No doubt he has plenty of options. Besides having what I think is a great succession planning mentality, Saban also is able to leverage great coaching talent with the ability to win —- a lot. Coaches are looking at the job as a springboard to rehabilitate careers or provide a jump off point to grow into the next job. I salute Saban in understanding the game and realizing a constant coaching merry go round brings new wrinkles teams having seen in preceding years.

Saban’s “already made a great hire for special teams coordinator.” Whaaaat? Why do you even need a special teams coordinator? Hogwash!!

Lot of turn over at Bama.
Over time it catches up to a team.
Bama or no Bama
Think this hurts them.
More so cinsidering the new coaches now setting up in the West.
Goodbye Bama, your run has ended

Love how you think turnover at Alabama hurts there, but turnover at the rest of the SEC West is a plus.

“Your run has ended.”
That’s comedy gold right there. If Saban hired your boy Propst as his OC, you would be saying, “Long live the crimson dynasty.”

All things come to an end, and Bama’s run is there.
LSU, Auburn, A&M, MSU, and Arkansas will be a lot better in ’18. All of those team will play Bama tough, and over the season it will take a toll on Saban.
They got lucky in Championship game.
Does Saban have a problem with coaches? His turnover rate seems to be that way. So how do those recruits view that.
If Saban does not make it to ’18 SEC game, how does that play down the road with an aging coach.
His second year OC had issues. Think not. Then why did he not play his frosh QB before the second half. He had to have had the reps and the OC had to see his possibilities. No doubt he failed in his assessment at Auburn which cost them a shot at SEC.
Go back and look at that game. You will see the same performance by Hurts there as in the first half. Hurts has not progressed since he has been on campus. He holds the ball. They have the receivers, but you can not cover them with a Parrish. Parrish was burned twice. He is like you guys, throw your hands up in despair and concede. Damn!
Going on there 3rd OC in what 3 years. Same for a DC.
Dawgs pushed them into OT when Saban sits there with all those years of 5 star recruits. Where was Bama ranked at start of ’17 and where were the Dawgs. Gap closed.
Pruitt and Saban wanted to force Chaney and Fromm to put the ball up. And they did. Looked good against that defense. Never should have wasted those plays throwing to a FB. Take a page out of Freeze and Probst play book. Put the ball up deep and with speed.
Swift and Hardman were the guys they should have gone to.
Probst. Yes he can coach.
Think not. Look at his record.
18 seniors on roster in 17. Then all those roads games. He took down those metro Atlanta teams on the road!
Go ahead bubble bath girls and figure that out!

Will makes a really good point about Bama losing 17 seniors. Plus, while we all talk about how lucky Gus is, to me Saban has been the recipient of more luck than anybody. Sooner or later the Karmic Bitches turn on Bama.
