I’m trying to figure which is the more “bless your heart” posture — UCF’s continued insistence that it’s the real national champion, or the ever-vicarious nature of Stingtalk denizens.

Ever notice howTechies are more mouthy after we drill them? They’re a weird, I almost said bunch, but we know there’s only a handful of them.

They’re right about that Uncle Lou guy. He’s annoying as hell. His hits seem to come from people who like watching train wrecks.

Those guys are so much more concerned with our program than their own. They hate on UGA so much more than they support their own team. worst fans in America.

They day we win it will mean a whole year of mercilessly rubbing it in their faces. I look forward to that beautiful moment.

you know it will be awesome; they’re still whining about 1980, and trying to pretend their little Scripps Howard trophy from 1990 makes them the true champs. UCF probably would have an actual trophy if Scripps Howard was still handing them out.

Why not just post their own bowl highlights? 😉

They did right there in that pathetic thread.

Didn’t they play Florida in a bowl game? Or was it Tennessee, I always forget.

It is sad. I have some tech acquaintances who will watch a UGA game just to root against them, regardless of the opponent. I have never watched a tech game unless UGA is playing them.

Well, if I’m being honest, I did want to go to the Omni to pull for the Soviet national team when they played Tech in the early 80’s.

Please. In all seriousness. For the sake of mankind.
If you are a Georgia Tech fan, do the right thing.
Consider voluntary sterilization.

They basically already have.

But it’s not voluntarily.

They chose to attend Tech. Choice enough.

For a fan base that spends all their time yakking about how much smarter than us they are, they sure are oblivious to how pathetic this kind of shit makes them look.

I like the one guy who was trying to point out how pathetic the thread was. It was a nice bucket of ice water, and then they turned on him. “Ha. Ha. Ha. UGA lost Bama in OT after winning the Rose Bowl! They suck!”

It’s good for GT people to hate UGA.
I wouldn’t want it any other way.
And I suspect they will hate Georgia even more this time next year.

The similarities of tech and chicken fans is uncanny. Both are so obsessed with their rivals they have become laughing stocks.

I don’t mind GTU fans whining when they lose to us. Beats the hell out of the once or twice a decade gloating when they beat us and start whooping about how “GTU IS BACK, BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Let them have their fun, I say. If the toll for winning the SEC and the Rose Bowl is listening to them bleat that we lost the NC in OT, so be it.

Worst “big rivalry” in college football. Boring. Inconsequential. The best thing we could ever do to put Tech in their rightful place is drop that game like 3rd period French.

True, we play on rivalry weekend, but no one outside of UGA fans care. I predict another noon start this year in a game where our primary concerns are injuries.

Beating Tech > beating Austin Peay. If you think McGarity would replace the Tech game with home and home series against major P5 teams, think again. Tech is the gift that keeps on giving.

I missed the part about what is different with swapping them for another Power 5 home and home. The GT game would have more validity if they were all played in Sanford, trading them for a respected Power 5 team is a nice pick-up.

Yes, except that’s not what would happen. If Tech were off the schedule, McGarity would replace them with a cupcake played at home. I understand that you would much prefer a P5 home and home like the Notre Dame game. But McGarity really doesn’t care.

I honestly don’t get the logic that a certain portion of the fan base finds convincing. Drop a series with GT, a P5 team that UGA owns, and move a series against a P5 team that’s had great success against UGA from a neutral site to a home-and-home series, where it will be even tougher to beat them half the time. What am I missing?

I have a UK friend. He says that UofL fans do the same thing with them in basketball. They love hating UK more than loving their own team.

Don’t see how anyone thinks we should end this series. There’s never a year we don’t need to rub their noses in the dirt. Also, what’s better than an almost guaranteed yearly win against a P5 opponent? Beats the h___ out of playing Directional State U.
