What a nice surprise that was (though I miss the bassoon). One of my first Motown favorites when I was discovering it all in high school (via oldies radio, RIP) and one of the best Motown lyrics, pre-“What’s Goin’ On”.

I can’t listen to Smokey without memories of watching Soul Train and Midnight Special. Anybody here actually play in a garage band? lol.
