There is just something a little sad about this.
For the second year in a row, Georgia Tech football will play its annual spring intrasquad scrimmage under the lights at Bobby Dodd Stadium.
The school’s athletic department announced on Monday that the Yellow Jackets spring game will be held on Friday, Apr. 20, and will begin at 7 p.m.
It’s not a game; it’s an “intrasquad scrimmage”. It’s not on a beautiful spring afternoon. It’s at night. It’s not on a Saturday, when fans can make a day of it.
All that’s missing is a Paul Johnson promo advising fans not to bother showing up.
Kind of like recruiting, too much trouble.

I wonder if they’ll claim a victory like Kansas did a few years ago after their spring game.
Bless their nerdy little hearts.

The Aggies did the same a few years back.

The way CPJ’s stock has fallen of late, telling Tech fans not to show up might actually be their best shot at getting butts in some seats.

FishFry really has been the kiss of death for that program hasn’t he? They can’t afford to fire him and with the recruits he has who could take over? I wonder if Butch got the Champions for Life idea from CPJ’s State Champs ring?

Well, who wants to commute back into town on a weekend. Just stay for the game on Friday. And the kids got to go home to Moma for the weekend too. Hmm. Their attendance might go up if all their games were on Friday or Thursday night.

The have to have an intrasquad scrimmage so their O-line doesn’t cut block all the D-line players like in a game.
