The Georgia General Assembly has seen fit to issue SR 920, a resolution honoring one George Edward Clinton for, among other things, the “outstanding accomplishments of this pillar of funk music“, and, frankly speaking, who am I to argue with that?
By the way, in case you’re interested, Clinton is currently on tour and I have to admit I’m sorely tempted to travel over and take in this show.
Bucketlist it man! Or is it already checked off? And even if so, we’ll just keep the 2017 UGA Trip Tour rolling right into 2018. LSU is on the plate for some of us.

We need about 40k in Death Valley! It’s definitely on the “to do” list.

I think I bought my first Parliament album to piss off my parents a bit. It turned out I ended up loving GC & Parliament and still listen to them in my 50’s. Seeing who else is on the bill (The Time & Shelia E) makes it even more tempting.

I highly encourage you to do so. Fantastic showman, in the vein of the Godfather of Soul.

Well, that’s one the Georgia legislature got right.

Yes, they may have sealed the deal on Amazon choosing another city, but good on them for finding time to honor a musician.

George already did a song for the GA legislature.

Maggot Brain was my intro to Funkadelic, and I went to see them when they were touring that album in 1972-73. Great band. Last saw George and the P-Funk All Stars at Atlanta’s Masquerade in the late ’90s, and the phuquers played non-stop for six hours. Ridiculous. Should you go? Ummmmmm, yeah, LOL!

How does this group manage to alienate Delta and Amazon but honor George Clinton?

Ahhh…Summer after 7th grade. That was my “Stand By Me” Summer. Yeah. I’m old.
Always wondered if he wore those outfits to Kroger.

And yet the brain trust in charge of our stadium music can’t seem to capitalize on a Clinton song tailor made for Dawgs.

They’ll be at the Major Rager in Augusta on April 6 with The James Brown Band. But, as a longtime Prince fan… that show in Tuscaloosa looks awfully tempting!

I am stunned that anyone in the GA legislature knew enough to do this
